Made it through my first day! I slept most of it. Feeling weak and a little cloudy. I’m sure some of it is from caffeine withdrawal. I purchased Joe Cross’s 101 Juice Recipes book. Looking forward to trying several of them. Got on the scale this morning and to my astonishment I’ve lost 4 pounds already! That has motivated me to push through day two for sure. This isn’t easy, but I have a feeling it’s goibg to be worth it. Will post again tonight.

    Hi RM,

I'm Michelle. I have not weighed myself. I want to wait the 10 days. I know I've lost some water weight as my clothing is loose. Today was challenging but moving forward. How are you doing? I Hope you're having tremendous success!

Day One has begun. I have the next couple of days off, which is good because I am anticipating a withdrawal from caffeine, and just food in general. Got up early and juiced. I have four mason jars of Mean Green in the fridge and am enjoying a carrot-apple-pear-lemon-ginger juice now. I really like this one in the morning. I figured tonight I'll do something with beets as my final juice. I'm not sure how much daily juice is appropriate, but I've planned for six 12 ounce mason jars for the day. I fill them to the brim, so it's probably more like 14-16 ounces. Anyhow, I'm blessed to have a very loving and supportive wife, who has actually lost over 80 pounds in the last few years. She's fought tooth and nail for it too. She didn't juice, she just followed whatever diet felt right for her. And she's very faithful with her exercise. Now it's my turn! Glad to be here.

@ Laura, kudos on a successful Day One. I am so glad you are taking a few days off work. I did and it really helped me get from feast to famine. It is also great that you have support at home. That makes a huge difference too. I look forward to your evening post, letting us know how Day One ended.

Hello, my name is Laura and I've been putting my health aside for 50 years. I have at least 150 pounds to lose. Blood pressure as of tonight is 153/92. I'm tired of being overweight and unable to do the things I've always wanted to do. On my 50th birthday this past April I decided to challenge myself with a 5 mile hike in the Georgia mountains to a lodge that is only accessible by foot. What should have been a 3 hour hike turned out to be more than 6 hours for me. It nearly killed me! BUT as painful as it was, I made it. Now I want to do more, be more. I'm missing out on too much. About a week ago I purchased a juicer, on whim. Figured I would give it a try. After a couple of days of supplementing my meals with juice I started to feel better - a whole lot better. I'm going to try a 10 day reboot starting tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous because I've never been great at fasting. I'm afraid I may just curl up in a ball for a day or so and then quit. But, just like that mountain I climbed on my birthday, I'm determined to conquer this. Nothing like turning 50 to make make me realize that there are more years behind me than ahead of me. I want to live them to the fullest. Looking forward to the turning point.

I've just past the half way mark in the 60 day Guided Reboot for Diabetes. I've lost 18 lbs given I'm female, post menopause and almost 60 years of age. Only 100 lbs more to go UGH! I looked at my self in the mirror the other day and honestly did not realize my body size was as large as it was. On the up side, I feel really good. I have more energy, moving a bit more, having fewer aches and pains. I've done several guided reboots before and always backslide after the juicing phase is complete. I find I need the social support to stay focused.
