Anyone out there experienced candida/thrush while juicing? I've cut my fruit intake back to 20%. Any other suggestions, advice or experience with this would be welcomed! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Treesee. Years ago, before the birth of my son, I pulled a foot muscle on a hike and it got inflamed... the doc gave me a steroid shot in my ankle (which helped the pain for 1.5 days total but suppressed my immune system). I started getting sick, caught 5 colds and viruses in a couple of months, for which he gave me antibiotics. Diff times. Either the steroid of the resulting antibiotics had ruined my immune system. Then, I ended up with the mother of all candida infections, systemically. My son was born with thrush.

The obgyn at the time only gave us one dose of the most powerful anti-fungal meds of the time (Diflucan), then waited too long, then gave them again... while they had worked the first time, I ran out of the med before it was taken care of. The lactation consultants repeatedly told him and other docs that it would take a sustained 30 days worth to fix... but he repeatedly waited to extend it. (Insurance rules?). So I developed a resistance to those meds and anything they could throw at us.

At the suggestion of the lactation consulting, I finally tried a homeopathic combination remedy of candida albicans and other candida varieties. It knocked it out right away, a miracle. And over the next six months, my immune system was restored. If you want to know more, or have questions, send me a message. I'll try to point you toward what helped me or some variety of it.

    Hi Treesee,

No, not while juicing. Thrush can get nasty and spread to the throat or esophagus, you may need traditional medication on this one.

Soose, thank you so much! I am going to make a trip tomorrow to see my favorite health and nutrition store and see if the have those homeopathics. I am sure this is related to my digestive system needing to heal after years of eating poorly. I just don't know how to fix it and I am frustrated!!! Thanks again!!!

Highschoolskinny, so glad you made it back to start!

Hey, did you see the thread I started, for those who don't have a juicer yet?

(Started because I kept seeing people come in who were ready to start but they'd ordered a juicer and it was going to take awhile, or they didn't have the resources to get a juicer at that time.)

Something there might also work when or if a juicer part breaks.

    Hi Soose,

I did not see your thread, thanks for the heads up. Crazy, to break the housing, I accidentally dropped it while washing. Good to be back!

So I watched my 600lb life last night to give myself motivation. I will not give up, give in or go silently into the night. Good morning rebooters! *Rattles the blankets* I'm going to keep posting until kindred spirits in the group speak back and even after then.

Well after one week of a loose trial period I have lost 5lbs I have lost side boobs. Now let me tell you why I noticed this. I am a side sleeper and I tossed and turned trying to figure out why sleeping on my side is not as comfy. Put on a dress that used to be "boobalicious" and realized I didnt have side boob hanging out. For some may be TMI but lets get real if you are over 100lbs overweight we all have side boobs and need to take those wins where we can. Peace, love and joy rebooters.

@ Shay, I look forward to your posts. I totally understand the side boob changes. I also was overjoyed when I could throw away my big "granny underwear". As soon as I can get into smaller sizes, the larger sizes go to Salvation Army. I do not want to go back. I WILL NOT GO BACK.... Juice on Shay. I look forward to your next discovery. I hope you are able to keep a journal.

You are an inspiration. I don't need to lose as much weight and I lost my side boobs as well, and back fat, you know what hangs over your bra? You can totally do this. Please keep posting. I am prepping for a 28 day reboot in about a month and I am really enjoying what you share. And Be as Real as Possible, your voice resonates.. I have gained so much confidence from my first two reboots and can't wait to begin again.. Juice on!

I stepped on the scale before beginning transition. I will step on it again at day 30 and then again at day 60. I dont want it to be all about the scale and I dont want to be disappointed if the scale doesnt say what I want it to say. I realize the perhaps 60 or 120 days is not enough time to undo decades of damage. That is my mind set and as I release this weight I am going to be mindful of how I got here so I do not have to come this way again. I am getting off the roller coaster and going to take this time to address the underlying reason of my weight and not how those reasons manifest so I can truly heal.

Has anyone out there participated in a juice fast for 120 days?

@ Treesee, good to see you back. I did a 100 day juice onky reboot in 2016. What are you considering? Are you juicing?

    Hello Everyone,

I am at the 15 day mark of a 30 day guided reboot with a 111 to 121 lbs to loose. So far in the first 15 days I have lost 14 lbs.

For those of you that did a guided reboot how much water weight did you gain back from the transition from juice only to healthy plant based meals?

  • RM

@ Dawn, so glad to hear your 30 day guided reboot is going well. 14 pounds in 25 days is phenomenal. Kudos to you. Who is your teacher?

I do not know if it was all water weight gain during my transition off a 100 day reboot, but I gained 3 to 5 pounds. Hope that info helps. Juice on.
