Well here I am, no longer 39 and instead part of the 40's club! My three weeks to celebrate my birthday in Italy were amazing and I came home with something that I am lovingly calling my "pizza and pasta belly". I haven't stepped on a scale, I don't do that anymore, but I do know that my jeans are a little tighter than I'd like them to be. So...I'm juicing again! I'm currently on day 2 of juice only and I feel like I have a bit of a detox road ahead of me. I can't get off the sugar or the carbs through diet alone, as I've proven that over the last two weeks, so I felt it was time to reboot again. Sadly I'm feeling a little weak. I have lots going on in my life and am feeling overwhelmed most of the time. The juicing is an attempt to gain control back over my life even amidst the change that is happening. I don't currently have a plan, which I know is a guarantee for failure in many ways. I do know, however, that I am hosting my son's 15th birthday part on Sunday and it's a big family BBQ. I just hope that if I decide to stop juicing after just three days, that I can at least stay vegan for the festivities. I'll have veggies and hummus and fruit galore for everyone there...that's not so bad for me either I guess! I'll just keep on keeping on, whatever it looks like, and try to get back to my sugar free vegan ways!

Sounds like a fabulous trip and worth every pound! Good for you for getting back on the wagon. I am altering my plan week by week but my weight is slowly inching down so I am focusing on that and the long term instead of the quick fix I needed before. I do love that now I feel like I have something I can do to get back on track instead of the old days when I would get off track and judge myself so then it would get worse and I would eat everything in sight and feel like all my progress before the "diet" was shot. Now I feel like I can detox and get back on track with living healthy. I have been more flexible for social events too and that has made life much more manageable and pleasant. food is such a social thing! I hope your party went well and your detox isn't too bad.

Hello all! So I have been sticking to vegan and doing kind of a modified reboot since I got back from Mexico. I have lost I few pounds but not much. I have been juicing during the week and eating vegan (and drinking) over the weekend. I end up gaining over the weekend of course but I wanted to see how much I would still end up losing overall. Its been a couple pounds a week. Not bad weight loss for a regular diet but not sure if it is worth juicing for 5 days a stretch. I still want to lose another 20 pounds. What I find difficult right now is all the social obligations! the weather is finally getting nice her and I don't want to lose out on all the socializing and having fun! We are going away for a lot of weekends as well. I am so much closer to my goal that I think my motivation has changed as well. I feel so much better and look so much better that although I would love to get the extra weight off its not as dire and oppressing as it was before.

sooooo, I think I am going to commit to another full 10 day reboot after I get back from my holiday weekend and then take a break from full juicing for awhile and then when I am ready sign on for another full one. Short 5 day ones don't seem as effective for me. I will continue to juice everyday and I am committed to 100 vegan and feel really comfortable with that so I think that is my plan. what are others doing? haven't heard from anyone I awhile. I would love to hear some advice or feedback!

Hello all! I am finally back! Sorry for the long break! I had shoulder surgery, went to a work training and then went to Mexico! Its been a wild ride but life is back to normal now and I am happy to be back to juicing. I did manage to stay vegetarian the whole time but did not stay vegan. I love my coffee too much to give up cappuccinos and they didn't have soy milk options in Mexico. They did have beautiful grilled veggies and beans and every buffet so it was easy for me to continue to eat healthy. I drank a lot however!!! I am back home and doing another juice fast to detox and get back on track with losing more weight. would love to get off another 25 pounds. How is everyone doing?? What did I miss?

so I am back to juicing full time and today is day 1. I'm feeling pretty good right now. So far it seems easier than last time. I am still having a couple cups of coffee with coconut milk in the morning this time. I did the 30 days with none but decided detoxing off caffeine wasn't as important to me this time. How is everyone doing?

Ok, new to juicing and will be 40 in July! Had my first juice tonight, but I can't go 100% juice, I have to eat also. Has anyone had success with 3-4 juices a day and vegan diet meals. I want to loose 15-20 lbs and try to get off some meds. Any help and support would be appreciated. My husband is great but he's a guy :)

Hi Maegirl75...you might want to look into Dr Junger's book Clean to help you decide on how to juice and eat together. I used to swear by Dr Fuhrman's Eat to Live plan but I'm finding that Clean is easier to stick to and I'm not feeling deprived of the essential fats (Dr Fuhrman encourages eliminating all fats including nuts and seeds when you're trying to lose weight). The plans are somewhat similar with the exception of the nuts/seeds and beans.

So decided to take a break for couple of weeks. I was really ready to have some social time and drink some coffee! I also only lost 3 pounds in the last 10 days so I think my body is ready for a break. So my plan is to start back March 9th and hopefully after the break my body will be ready to lose a bit more weight. I lost 25 pounds in 30 days and feel really good but am defiantly ready to chew a bit. Last night I had a salad with home make vinaigrette dressing and then an apple later after I juiced all day. Today I plan on eating just fresh and raw fruits and veggies and still having a couple of juices. I am having my first coffee with coconut creamer in over 30 days and it tastes amazing!! I am also looking forward to having a few glasses of wine this weekend but I need to be careful that I don't get sick :-/

I plan on still going on the forums every day to keep my motivation to eat clean and stay healthy and to make sure I do the reboot again in a week and a half and don't get lazy. Keep me accountable please ladies!!! I need you!

Hello all and welcome to our newly joined members!! Sources do like we are all having some success and feeling good. Today is the lasts day of my 30 day reboot. I still want to lose more weight so am considering doing another 15 days. I am thinking of taking a bit of time off first. Maybe a night this weekend, have a vegan dinner and then drink some wine and then a couple days in a week or so when I go out of town. I feel good juicing it's just the so ill aspect and I really miss my wine! On the other hand I've been considering transitioning now to vegan diet and still having one or two juices a day and losing the rest of the weight slowly. I'm curious if anyone has experience taking a break from juicing with success or losing while eating and jucing?

Hi Ladies, So glad to have found this group! Can't wait to get started! My goal is weight loss and getting my body more alkaline/healthy. I started juicing and adding it into my diet in 2008 and was doing really well and lost a lot of weight. Then, as the years went on it was like I hit a wall and could not get one more juice down. I also deal with stress by eating! I am a huge emotional eater! So now I am back where I started...overweight, depressed, feeling like a frumpy wife and mother and I need to not only reboot my body but my mind!
