    Hello, all.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a juice bar in Orange County, California? I've tried Nature's Juice, Nekter, Juice It Up, and Robeks, which all seem to be franchises. I'd like to try a non-franchise.

Hello all! Relatively new to juicing and I'm in the SoCal area in the Antelope Valley (65 mi north of Los Angeles). Just started a 30 day juice fast yesterday. I'm feeling pretty good so far, other than feeling hungry from time to time.

Newbie here, from Northern Cali on my 2nd day, shooting for 10. Today is really hard because I'm off work and everyone around are having BBqs ...just trying to stay hydrated and stay where I can't smell the food :(

This is Angela from Sacramento. I am starting a 10 -day reboot today. I had a hard time when dinner came around and have fallen off the wagon, even with clean food, the weight is having a hard time leaving- so 100% juice. I was juicing till dinner, but it is too slow. I need to lose 35 pounds to be at my ideal.

Hope others are doing well- Be in touch soon.

The guided reboot is really helping me stay on track. Doing 5 days of juicing and fruit and veggies only before the 10 day juice only portion, really helped with the transition. I have lost 9lbs in 9 days.

Also the nutritionist on the guided reboot has said that lots and lots of water/herbal tea/coconut water is very important. You can't get your liquid just through the juice apparently. She also recommends vegetable broth, preferably homemade.

Hi... I live in Angels Camp, CA, in the Sierra foothills, Gold Country. I am 66, have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and bad cholesterol. I started this at 288lbs, and am currently at 278.

I have been MOSTLY juicing for 17 days now. When I say mostly, I have eaten some clean food (home made tabbouleh, some brown rice and black beans, a couple sweet potato & coconut soups, some nuts). However I have given up coffee, animal products, dairy, and processed foods. My weight loss peaked at 12lbs a couple days ago, but since then it has creeped back up, this morning's weighing showed only 10lbs.

I suppose I may be replacing some fat with muscle, as I have been working out on my elliptical machine too. Kind of discouraging when you hit these weight loss plateaus. I think I should probably stop weighing every day and switch to doing it once a week, because I understand that everyone's weight will fluctuate a bit. After all, I am looking to lose 50-100 pounds, so +/- a couple pounds means nothing in the long run. I intend to be in this for the long run.

The really good news has been the reduction in my blood sugar levels. When I started this, my sugar was over 400 mg/dl. The past week or so it has been averaging a little above normal, with some lows if I am not careful down *below* the normal range. I need to make sure to have juice more often, as I have been kind of lax about that.

Hi Michaelnel and warm welcome! I am in Aliso Viejo near the coast in Orange County. I can appreciate how discouraging the weight loss plateaus are :/ I am on day 22 and have been stalled at 17 lbs. lost for a couple days now. I have been on juice only, but 3 days ago added a vegan protein powder (as is recommended for reboots over 15 days) and I think that did me in....my weight loss has stopped. I think I am going to ditch the protein shake for now and start weighing weekly instead of daily. I don't want to get discouraged...that just leads to defeatist thoughts and self sabotage! Today, I am starting a "couch to 5k" program to get ready to run a 5k in March. I have not been exercising very much, so I am hoping this will help me get going. It is a gradual 9 week walk-run program with a free mobile app, so there is no guess work to the walk-run intervals....the app talks you through each work out. I still have about 45 lbs. to go to be at my ideal weight, so I am in this for the long run as well! Happy juicing to you...look forward to reading your posts!

Hi Everyone! Day 21. Seems like this is an up and down journey. Mostly good, but challenging at times. Today, I had a headache and wasn't too hungry or thirsty. I drank enough water, but not enough juice. My weight loss seems to have stalled out at 17 lbs. Tomorrow I am going to get back to walking hills to see if that helps things (it has been raining for the past couple days, so I haven't exercised at all). Plan for tomorrow: walking, juicing, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, nail salon, spend time with the family:) Good night and happy tomorrow to you!

I was feeling the same way today. I didn't drink enough water or juice. I actually have never been able to drink enough juice (I'm working on it). Do u think not drinking enough juice will hinder weight loss? I was wondering that earlier. I hope tomorrow is a better day for u!

Hi Brandi, I was wondering the same thing. If we don't get enough juice, does our body go into starvation mode and hang onto the weight? I am more worried about getting enough nutrients and staying hydrated at this point. I am doing this to try and optimize my health!

Marie, are u following a specific juicing plan? Or did u just pick a few favorites and rotate them?

  • Marie

Hi Brandi, I am just juicing on the fly....whatever I have on hand. Usually, a mean green with an added orange. I sometimes buy juice at the local juice bar, especially when I can't seem to get my act together at home and get everyone to school and myself to work on time ;) I am going to follow the 5 day challenge, so I will be buying and juicing according to the plan.

  • Brandi711

Ok, I was just curious. I am going to pick a few that I like and switch them out every few days. :)

Ok so I have a question, how do u guys measure ginger when it's not all the same width??

  • Marie

Hi Brandi, I don't measure the exact amount of ginger for each juice. I just cut as much as I think I want in the juice. A little more for a spicier juice, a little less for a milder juice.

  • Brandi711

Ok thanks Marie! I have always been one of those people who needs exact measurements...lol

Ty Starz :) so I made a ginger pear snip last night and it was disgusting! Too much ginger! Lol!

  • Starz

Yeah I only put about 4 garlic heads worth in my stuff. I don't like that much bite with the ginger. However, I always love myself some pickled ginger whenever I go out to sushi. MMMM mm MMMmm
