    Day 18/60: No weight loss to record today. If I can get to the down 15 pounds mark over the weekend (which I think I'll be able to do) I plan to start light exercises on Monday. Right now I only have my daily routine of home and work, and I need to spend at least 45 minutes daily in some kind of activity. I can comfortably wear a couple of pairs of pants I'd outgrown for nearly a year, so I basically just doubled my wardrobe!



    I've been craving chips, so I thought I'd experiment a little and make some kale chips from the pulp leftover from juicing. I figured it would be a low calorie alternative and have plenty of the fiber I've been missing in my diet. I mixed the kale pulp with some almond butter and sea salt, smooshed it out on a pan and baked it on low heat for an hour to dry it out, and another 30 minutes on high heat to crisp it. I even cut them nice and pretty into Dorito style triangles.






    It was NOT a satisfactory substitute. It tasted basically like lawn clippings that had been rained on a week ago and sun dried on the sidewalk.



    I was going to get some Saltines at the store, but the calorie count was about 42 calories per cracker, and I could see myself easily consuming 1,200 calories in a sitting. Since I'm not yet fully in control of my eating habits, especially my portioning habits, I foreswore the crackers and settled back down to my juice. The kale chips went into the trash.

    That's a mighty fine looking lawn clipping kinda sorta dorito you've got in your hand there!!! Seriously it looks good! I wouldn't have thought to use almond butter and I'm surprised it didn't lend more flavour. I make dehydrated pulp crackers also but I use almond flour, chia seeds, maybe a cup of water to 3 cups pulp and spices depending on what pulp I'm using. My family eats them with hummus, it probably disguises the flavour. So... freeze yours until you can eat hummus again LOL

    I hope you achieve your 15 lb weight loss goal!

    Wow the chips were that good... huh. Saltines...lol A food with zero nutritional value. Please get Blue corn chips they are non-GMO from how corn used to be blue...lol They are to die for, then mash up an avacado with tomatoe, garlic, lemon and scallions. Add hot chillies for an extra kick, you will love it. It is totally healthy on all levels. Eat it slow as your stomach has not had food. 18 days whooo Hooo

    Happy moment today! It is Day 3 for me (!!!!) and my 5 year-old son came up to me today and gasped "Mom!"



    "What sweetheart?"



    "Your belly!"



    "What about my belly?"



    "It Is getting tinnier!"



    No complaints here! :)

    Wow 9 pounds in 3 days, that is truly amazing. It eventually becomes a pound a day or 1/2 Kg but do not be sad . It's good you had no illness. Proud of you keep going. What is your goal days?

    Hi Everyone,



    I thought I would say hello as I have just joined today and I am enjoying reading all your comments. Today is my third day of the 15 day classic reboot but if I can manage it then longer to 20 or even 30 days but for now I want to commit to definitely doing 15. So at the moment I am still eating fruit and veg as Joe recommends in his book in the 15 day reboot and day 6 will take me to just juicing. I am absolutely dreading the prospect of going to just juice, I feel the cold and I am not looking forward to the prospect of just having juice every day instead of a warm meal and not chewing anything at all - any tips on how to manage this? Is it as bad as I think its going to be? Anyway I feel pretty determined right now despite the usual negativity you tend to get from the people around you. I hope you all have a good day! x

    Hi Laura136,

    If it will be a toss up between not juicing, then I say juice and have one warm pure puree of vegetable pumpkin, squash, kale, spinach, your choice, you can add onion and garlic for flavor as well as herbs. Make sure it is finely ground up otherwise it will be like a stone in your stomach use pink Himalayan salt, the idea of the juice is to give your stomach a rest from food period. Best to have the soup before you sleep you may find you can give it up after a few days. You are juicing because although the best fast is Water Fasting, it is just to hard. I did 19 days I can report you can live without food.

    Though water Fasting is intense, so the juice fasting is a far softer version, the medicine how ever is in the greens not the fruit juices so you can eat mostly veggie juices for the best resuts and add fruit juices as a treat. I drink now coconut water and like it more then the juices. Remember the greens are the medicine. You may have a headache for the first 3 days but since Joe had you eating vegetarian for 6 days it probably will be easier for you. I nearly died my first day, I am on my 5th day now, I have lost 7 pounds.

    Hi Laura136, like you i thought for sure I'd miss chewing on something, anything, but surprisingly its been OK. Use your pulp to make yourself vegetable broth. 3 cups pulp. 8-10 cups water. 1/2 tsp salt. spices to your liking... boil then simmer for up to 2 hours then strain for consumption. Honestly its not that bad and you'll feel less guilty about throwing all that waste into the compost bin :-) Today I've been sipping on a 3 cup Swell bottle full of veggie broth and its keeping me very content! You probably won't have any major issues transitioning into the juice only cleanse given your gearing up for the start making proper food restrictions! Good job! I did this also, and had few complications. Day #9 and feeling pretty amazing... sure I have my "moments" but they pass and if I'm hungry I drink juice & vegetable broth. Not a huge water fan but I do drink 16 oz after each 16 oz jar of juice. Hope you're close to a bathroom 'cause you will be pee'ing a lot! LOL

    Welcome and terrific that you are day 3! I agree on the warm food. Used to love my hot cup of coffee to warm my tummy. :( Now I resort to warm water with lemon, orange, turmeric, and ginger. In addition, I sometimes have warm vege broth. Good luck!

    Day 5: Well another day half over, I reached my plateau which I knew would happen, lost only a pound or 1/2 a kilo on scales today 84 1/2 Kilos or 185 pounds. I had yesterday all exotic fruit juices, pineapple, Kiwi, Papaya and lots of Coconut water. I have gone tropical. Appropriate as days ahead will see me in the tropical islands of Phuket,Thailand. I am excited about the change I am sad that it will take a mimnuim of 30 days to be 70 Kilos 154 pounds and another 30 to get to where I really want to be but I am saying to myslef, you are going to have allot of work to do towards getting your health together, especially If you want this to be the end of this silly yo-yo diet road. My pains came back to day not sure why. Though pain is the least of all the days so far. I have not eaten since I woke I just do not feel like it. I figure if I leave it, I will get hungry enough to juice, I am sipping cocunt water instead my new addiction.



    I am micro-needling my face as a side bar comment. Nothing the men in our group will care about but I figure since most of my day is spent contemplating my own navel and replaying every hideous memory tape of my life. I might as well do something constructive. So destroying a layer of my skin to get a better one seemed helpful. :) I cannot wait to leave Abu Dhabi where I was raised. My new offices I hope will be in Phuket but I will decide once I get there.

    I think "Godsgirl333" that dreams would be part of it. I have a theroy that cells have memory and when you are flushing out your system you are getting rid of emotions, experiences, you are spiritually cleaning at the same time. Today I had a very enlightening repressed memory. We are strange in how we cope with abuse often especially females we burry it like a dead body and it comes up like a ghost to haunt us when we are healing.

    Day 8 of 60. Quick note today. Beet juice i made had 1 beet, 2 handfuls of grapes and 1 lemon. Delicious! Thanks for the input on eliminating, I'll try tea or Metamucil. I did go today! Yay. Still feeling high and happy and peaceful. Thank you Gabriel for the inspirational quotes. I'll hang them up around my apt. Feeling good.

    By the way "Leatherfeet" you failed to mention calorie content I drank 1 1/2 litter coconut juice yesterday 270 calories , I am now an addict. :) Very nurishing but in Abu Dhabi 5 dollars a litter. When I get to Phuket Thailand, it will be dirt cheap.

    Day 17/60: Down another pound. I think I am beginning to feel some increase in energy. I’m definitely sleeping better. Ususally I wake up 2-3 times a night (not due to apnea, just figured it was normal for me). Now I’m sleeping pretty much through the night and waking up in the am, feeling more rested. Maybe not just the juice as much as the reduction in the other bad foods.



    Also looking at reducing the amount of juice I’m drinking daily. I currently drink 2 quarts a day, with 2 quarts of water. I think, now that my appetite is under control, I can try cutting back to just 1 quart of juice a day, but keeping up with the water.

    I recommend that you don't drink less - I read that you are already on low calories and if you lower it more, you could mess with your metabolism in a not good way! I suggest you stick to what they describe as the plan, which is 4 x apprx 16 ounces of juice (64 ounces a day is good) , plus water, plus coconut water, plus tea if you like

    Leatherfeet: Use this link to go to my YouTube folder for 60 Day Juice Fast. That is where I put them all. It is public, I believe, so you should have no trouble looking them up. I had planned to watch at least one every day for inspiration, but it has not yet been necessary for me to watch more than a half dozen so far. But I like having them there to go back to.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback on reducing my juice intake. Right now I feel physically pretty good, a lot less aches in my joints and cleaner on my insides. I'm not fighting physical hunger or weakness or dizziness or any of that. My energy is good and I'm actually starting to feel more energized. What I am battling right now is "mental" hunger; my old triggers, impulses, cravings and routines. I've not noticed any drop off in energy or increase in hunger or cravings since I dropped to 32 ounces of juice. I'll listen to my body and what it feels it needs, at least a couple of more days. Going back up in consumption is no problem. And I take seriously the combined wisdom and advice of the community here, especially those with far longer experience and education that me. I'm planning to use coconut water as a post-exercise replenisher starting next week. I found an organic coconut water product in 15.9 ounce containers that are perfect to tote with me. I have an app that is helping track not just my weight but also my mood and energy (along with other things), so when I see a negative change in that I will increase my juice consumption. And I may increase it, anyway, just to make sure my metabolism doesn't slow down and interfere with my weight loss efforts. Thanks!

    Sooo my story goes like this.. I am not a stranger to Juicing. My issue is staying consistent and focusing on a end goal. My weak moments are the weekends, I live in NYC and so many events go on that its always difficult for me to stay on track.My juice cleanses or smoothie cleanses never last pay day 5. Inadvertently I began a juice cleanse yesterday 3/07/2017 and during my attempt to find motivation, I discovered the Fat, Sick and Nearly dead. I totally binged watching it and cried and felt this new sense of motivation. The only issue, that I am still lacking is SUPPORT. Everyone thinks I'm crazy! Lol... Anywho, my goal is to PUSH myself to 10 days. Depending on the 10th day, My dream is to go until 30 days. My main goal here is to be able to finally FOCUS.



    Sorry for the long story, I kinda just needed to get this out.

    Welcome Stasi! Maybe try what many people do, juice 5 days, eat clean for 1 or 2, and repeat? A 1 day juice cleanse is a success, let alone a 5 day one!!! So don't be too hard on yourself! You've done very well to have accomplished 5 days of juicing!!!

    Support is key! None of my family is juicing with me, so I'm on my own on this journey. These boards are a great place to come and type your thoughts & concerns and even just to read what others are experiencing on their personal juice cleanse can be comforting especially if it relates to what you or I might be feeling in the moment.

    Hi "Stasico", The juicing is a reboot for your system to start craving what is good for it. To wash out disease in the body. Intresting word DIS-EASE lack of ease is what we have in the body. The process of cleansing is not pleasant but the agony is also short lived even if you did a 100 day fast that is 3 1/2 months, because after that you must come back to reailty. Here is my advise do only 5 days more and then switch to the meals in the recipe section of this website.

    Then try juicing for a day and eating a meal only at night from this site. See if that is easier. Take it easy you are not a faliure you are a miracle of nature and very healthy. It is all the modern food that is just a disaster and making us all fat, sick and nearly dead. We are here to support you and we all fall of the wagon. That is just called being alive. Trial and error, you need to find out how you can live and be happy for life. xoxoxoxoxo

    I wish to give you my support here.... welcome. I started 8 days ago and feel FANTASTIC!!!!! My first 3 days weren't too bad and I think it was because I read that Joe recommended drinking coconut juice (which I've shared here) to help with the first few days because it helps with replacing electrolytes. It worked for me- I had minimal symptoms. I wasn't sick or anything. Mostly just a gunky tongue and mouth, and some sleep disturbance. And of course, changes in elimination which is natural and normal.

    Day 4: Yesterady I am sad to report, I messed up in my pure juice adventure, I took a small tumble, after a full day of watermelon and orange juice, as I am living in a hotel these days, I just get what is on the menu. So I had 9 juices but towards the end of the night I finally got hungry and I was craving the Lebanese tabouli salad which they make really well in the Middle East. So I said to them make me one with only a little salt and tons of lemon juice on top, I squeezed two more lemons in myself. I wanted the plain tomato sauce they use for pasta in a cup. I ate it and it was really good, I said to myslef do not beat yourself up at least you fell off the wagon into super healthy eating.



    Two good things happened because I ate I finally could move my bowels. Second I lost another- 1 1/2 Kilos so now I am down to 85 Kilos 187 pounds. I woke with the least amount of pain in my head in days now sipping coconut water thanks to "leatherfeet" as I went shopping for diffrent veggies this morining as I need more greens, All the orange juice did not have a postive effect on my bladder, I wonder if anyone else had that feeling after consuming allot of orange juice. I feel good and I am back to juicing. Hope all of you are forging ahead the trail on health mountain...

    That must be very difficult living in a hotel and juicing... I can't imagine unless it has a kitchenette of sorts?

    Good too read that positive things came out of your tumble off the wagon ;-) I had to resort to an enema :-(

    As I am scrolling down, I thought the onions were hydrangeas, hahaha, that tells you where my head's at! The very idea that you are in a hotel fasting is amazing! Good for you, you must really want it. Yes, what I discovered yesterday is when I make a juice with oranges it seems to be too sweet for me, I would be better off with only a little bit. Had it yesterday and right away my sinus started to hurt. Pretty amazing how the body will let us know. So only once in a while now will I have that tasty little juice I posted yesterday. I admire your willingness to juice while in a hotel, you go girl!
