Hello everyone. ok so today is the end of day 12. I said I was going to try this for 10 days to see what it was like, this week I had no weight loss to report I maintained the same weight, my sugar did drop to 175.. that is good.. today I had a salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and avocado my wife added a little grilled chicken and I couldn't eat it I got nauseous, really! am I slowly becoming a vegan? lol well since this reboot wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, I am going to keep on going to the 30 day mark..... juice on!

You're coming off your fast too quickly with a salad and chicken. This is probably why you're nauseated.

What is today? Day 13 for me which started with reaching 10 pounds gone! YAHOO. Nothing like success to motivate you to continue. My 77 year old mom is even sipping my juices now - oh, that one is better she says, lol. It has quietly inspired her to eat more veggies than she was (she has a decent diet, and for her age is in great shape - she only takes Vit D3 that I talked her into, and has NO other prescriptions - but I don't think I will get her to go full juice! ha ha. My birthday is at the end of March and we always celebrate our families March birthdays with corned beef and cabbage. I will eat some dinner, it's a choice, but mom already told me the list of added veggies she is adding to the dinner so I can get my fill on them. I feel so fortunate to be supported by family.

I have been steadily upping my kale intake in my juices, and found that lots of greens with a couple cukes and lemons is really becoming a favorite. I add any other greens I have in the house - parsley, broccoli, cabbage, and a little apple to bring a bit of sweet. My new favorite.

Hope everyone is faring well. I would never have believed almost 2 weeks in that I would feel this good.

Dark circles under eye - is anyone else experiencing this? I'm at Day 9 and the darkness appeared around Day 7.

no dark circles - i would ask if you are sleeping enough? In fact, aside from weight, the 2nd most apparent result for me is how clear my skin feels and looks. Maybe drink more coconut water?

ive decided that im going to start with joes three day juice fast and see where it takes me, to transition into possibly something longer i am adding cabbage soup to my juices. im hoping to get this one day down! ive read that hospitals use the cabbage soup recipe with clients pre operation to get the weight down and i need that, guess this is the best i KNOW i can do and KEEP ON DOING! who knows i might find once i get started that im fine eventually with juice alone

hey ya'll I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm on day 7. I feel really good. Yesterday I was an odd day and I had 6 pieces of pecan and gained 1.2 lbs??:( . When we are finished with our reboot and we start eating are we going to gain it all back? I know when we finish the reboot we eat fruits and veggies and we add them back slowly but now I'm concerned. Does anyone have any info on this? Please

thanks for any help and support. Hope everyone has a fantastic day

    keep on juicing on

Yes it's common to gain anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds when you go off the fast because your metabolism is slowed and your digestive system is inactive. So any food you start consuming, your body will hoard it until your body realizes the famine is over and starts revving up the metabolism. Breaking the fast properly can range anywhere from 4 days to 3 weeks, depending on the length of the fast. Here are a couple excerpts from some fasting books I've read:

"Breaking the fast is the most important part of the process... we have to wake up the digestive system slowly and steadily... One man wrote me and said he fasted for 14 days and broke it with a cheeseburger. He got horribly ill and his stomach swelled up like a balloon... Do not "hurry" things because you think you are ready." This author goes on to explain a detailed daily regimen for ramping digestion back up.

Fruits, smoothies, sprouts, soup broths and veggies are used to break a fast. Quantity is vitally important. The first day you nibble, "feed yourself like a baby." Take tiny amounts every hour or two to start sending signals to your nervous system that the famine is over. Do not combine foods during this time. Drink lots of water and vegetable juice. This is for the first 2 days.

Then for the next week you eat the same foods, but increase quantity slowly. Then the week after that, you start introducing more variety - all plant-based of course.

The longer you fast, the more important it is to wake your body up slowly and gently.

The ups and downs are the hardest part- you have to account for fluid and weigh once a week while losing, I weigh every day of course but look at Monday to Monday. I used to say- losing or maintaining, today with no loss it occurred to me to change that to losing, maintaining or storing up health credits! Right? I mean- really, I didn't get fat eating this type of food and I'm not going to keep it off until I learn to eat this type of food!

End of day TWO...whoo! I survived with no solid food whatsoever and three sips of coffee. I could handle the hunger pains from the smell of food (a sip of juice helped there,) but the headache I couldn't hack. Needless to say, I'm glad this day is done and hope day THREE is good to me.

BTW...after a month of a vegan diet my clothes already fit better. I can't wait to see what juicing has in store for me.

    Happy Juicing :)

Hi, Glad to have found a support group. I'm aiming to start Wednesday, March 1st, but may start a day early if I get all of my ducks in a row ;-) I've done a 10 day juice cleanse in the past and from what I can remember of it, i felt pretty good energy wise while doing it. I'm aiming for 30 days this time around. I have the Norwalk Juicer that's been sitting pretty on my kitchen counter collecting dust for quite some time now, so I'm excited to start using it again. I cut out coffee a few days ago... and have been cutting back on dairy except goat cheese in preparation for the cleanse. I'm sure the first week will be a challenge with its ups and downs, but I'm SO ready for this!!!

Oscar's time in Oregon. I know, there are bigger issues in the world, but here I sit NOT eating garbage while I watch. In fact, I had my dinner juice and I am warming up with a big ol' glass of hot water. I can actually say with day 12 mostly behind me, I still feel great and I am pumped to keep going. I even prepped for tomorrow already. I am to the point where I believe I can do 30, or even 60 if I decide to continue. Happy.

Hope everyone is feeling good today!!

just remember most of those a listers are on the same plan you are, they do it 2 weeks before oscars so they can look their best, it really is one big celebration after the show ill bet. ill bet they have a huge catering service that brings their juices to them or they do the spa fat farm and get the whole treatment! wonder if the clothing people are kept busy doing alterations til the last minute after they drop some weight??? its a whole thing

Day TWO...woke up with a headache. Made my way downstairs and looked at my coffeemaker. Sadly made my way to the fridge and poured myself a cup of mostly yellow/orange juice, which I prepared the night before. I have a happy tummy now and should be getting ready here soon to take a two hour drive to see my aunt in the hospital who has been diagnosed with cancer. I haven't traveled with my drinks so this will get me ready for a longer trip next weekend.

BTW that cup of juice that I sipped while I cooked dinner last night helped. While everyone ate the homemade Pizza I downed another cup of juice, and I was good for the rest of the night.

    Happy juicing everyone!
