So... I'm moving to the Melting in March group, and will be in touch with you guys there.

By the way... Come April you don't need to open a new group, you can simply change the name! :)

    Hi everyone,

most of us who have posted on this group are also in the 'February reboot' discussion, so it's all got a bit confusing.

So the idea is that if possible, we could combine this group and 'February reboot' into a new group. It's called Melting in March and Beyond and has an apple with the map of the world carved on it as the avatar.

    Here's the direct link: http://community.rebootwithjoe.com/groups/view/cod...

That way, we can all keep up with each other without having to post in 2 different places - who's in? Juice on, friends! :)

Excellent, I will be posting there from now on. Might as well merge in especially as I am nearing the end.

Day 23, feeling good again. I have been making a lot of my own juices and not following a specific plan. So I have broadened my horizons. Right now I am drinking a juice called a Hot V6 from the recipes on the site here. I love it. It is tomato based with garlic and onion and has some Tabasco sauce mixed in for heat. I have so missed garlic and hot foods. It would be very good over pasta I think. It's a sipping juice though, you can't drink this in one gulp and guaranteed bad breath with the hot onion and garlic. Making one for Wednesday called red velvet cupcake. Looking forward to trying that one as well.

Went to doctors office this morning so they could take blood so they would have results for my physical Thursday so I can talk to my Doc about the experience. I should be able to see those results online tomorrow. Also to talk to him about my eczema being completely gone and so we can start looking at what caused it. Oh and I was introduced to another new vegetable I never knew existed, the kohlrabi.

Glad to know the eczema is completely gone. I shall tell my grand daughter, Cheers and great work you are doing too!....love the Hot V6, and when we eat on the fun side, I guess we can add vodka!!!

Day 22, Feeling a lot better, sorry no updates in few days. Been recovering from my cold and still juicing. Thursday I felt horrible I called in sick to work and just slept in, wake up drink my juice go back to bed. Friday, I started feeling better, still pretty whipped by my cold. I had no energy at all. Shopping day and first day to start my own juices. I chose one called the cold fighter with a ton of vitamin C in it and tumeric as well. Then also a super immune system booster. I only shopped for 2 days I just didn't feel like being out in the world. I did by some pumpkin seeds, I tried searching for anything very high in zinc but couldn't find anything so I did some snacking on pumpkin seeds as i couldn't juice them. I really needed the extra zinc to fight my cold. I did manage not to use any NyQuil or anything else.

Saturday I was feeling a lot better, feeling more myself, still snacking on pumpkin seeds but that's all I have added to my juicing. Sunday, I feel fantastic. Slight cough every now and then but other than that I feel great. My energy has returned, and I feel much better.

Here's a little pick-me-up everyone! My Yonatan, who keeps me going and makes me work harder to become a better me. So much true joy and love in such a tiny person inspires me every day to keep him smiling, keep him curious about the world and everything in it, keep him healthy and give him the best possible life I can.

Heya guys! Day 15 is behind me, and I have only two more before I take a small break while flying abroad for a wedding. Then I'm back 3 days later and I'll see if I continue juice-only or go with a juice & eat... I can't believe I've made it this far. It's phenomenal. Each and every one of you has done something amazing, and you can proudly give yourself a pat on the back and feel great about it!

Here's a super quick crunchy snack recipe. Basically veggies with a light dressing. Perfect for always (except on juice-only reboot), as a light meal or just sitting on your table for you to snack on. It can even substitute popcorn while watching movies! The recipe is really big, but when I make it, I just put it on the table (or desk at work) and nibble... and suddenly I'm at the bottom of the bowl. It's all healthy, so feel free to eat a lot of this one.

Also, it's completely flexible so play around with the vegetables and find out which work for you.

Vegetable Crunchy Munchies (huge bowl, appr. 8-10 servings)

Vegetables (mix, omit, add - to a total of about 10 cups):

    2 carrots

    2 medium cucumbers

    1 red pepper

    1 yellow/orange pepper

    1 bulb fennel

    1/2 head small iceberg lettuce

    1/2 head small cabbage

    1/2 head small cauliflower

    1 small kohlrabi

    Dressing:

    2-3 tbs. olive oil

    1 lemon (to squeeze)

    1/4-1/2 tsp. salt

    Instructions:

    Wash vegetables, peel if necessary.

Cut into finger-food-size or bite-size pieces (I usually cut into sticks/strips, sometimes slices).

Throw all the cut vegetables into a very large bowl with room to mix.

Drizzle the olive oil over the veggies. Squeeze the lemon and pour the juice over the vegetables. Add the salt and toss vegetables well. Taste and correct. Done! Now munch to your heart's content.

    Enjoy! :)

Halfway through day 5 and nearly just had a total meltdown. The supermarket was meant to be open today after the holiday and wasn't - and hardly any sellers on the streets, only veg and no fruit. Just drank the water from the last coconut this morning, only 250ml so not enough, no apples left and only 2 oranges....anyway, in the end I found one stall selling expensive fruit and spent a fortune stocking up, came home and ate some of the coconut after my green juice. Not ideal but as long as I can't get coconut water I think it will have to do.

It's a bit crazy, I'm usually famous for being unflappable and zen at work and I'm stressing about buying APPLES. However, I have them now and enough stuff to get through tomorrow even if the market still isn't open. Still not quite at that day 4 or 5 high that so many people talk about. If anything, not as good as yesterday - a bit fuzzy and a slight headache. I want to go and run but to be safe I'm not going to risk it till I feel better then I might to and run at the gym down the road.

Another whingy post. You'd think I'd be over it by now. Juice on.

Enough whining - just read Dee's post on february reboot, thought 'screw it' and went and jogged 2 miles. Paula Radcliffe need have no fears...managed about 90% of the distance but glad I did it. Feeling better. Juice on!

Melly, that is a truly heroic story! You rock!

About the coconuts, I don't drink them because in my corner of the world you pay about $5 for a tiny coconut, and the only alternative is canned junk - yuck! So I just hydrate and drink plenty of leafy greens, which provide electrolytes too.

Hope the stores are open tomorrow and that day 6 is a breeze!

Haha - not heroic but thanks anyway. I'm off to investigate the market - some sellers will be out anyway. I think with running I must have coconut water - and unfortunately I can't get kale regularly which would pack the best leafy green juicing punch, although I had a box delivered and froze it so it's nice for meals :) Have a great day and a lovely time at the wedding. Juice on!
