Starting my first Reboot next Sat. Anyone else out there?

Hi, Cowboygrrl! Yes, I'm here! :) Glad to have company. Been at this reboot since Feb 2018. Seriously. My 2 guys in my family are also rebooting. (Only part of it juice only.) So far I've slowly lost about 44 lbs from when I started tracking April 1st. I had to wait awhile to start losing. To keep going, I stay active on this site. At this age, I have to keep going.

Are you going to transition in? What are your plans? Have you seen the movie and/or read Joe's book on rebooting? There are some "pdf's" of shorter plans on the site here but some have trouble downloading them... if you want them forwarded by email, there's good info in them including transitioning plans to juice only. Send me a private message by clicking on my name, with a gmail or hotmail, and I'll forward the two that have been shared with me.

Meanwhile, the two active groups on site lately are Happy Juicing 2018 and Juicing Challenge for Beginners. Come meet some people!

Hi, this is Jackie and I joined yesterday. I am really excited to experience juicing. I joined a guided reboot, which starts tomorrow, so a positive attitude is my new motto!

Hi, Sunny aka Jackie. :) Glad to have you here. Good luck with the guided reboot! Don't be a stranger, even though you'll have a group there, too.

I'm starting "again" today, I'm at my fattest ever in my life. So just going to take everyone's advise and start with 10 days. Which is going to be tough because I have 3 summer family get togethers and have to do some cooking. I keep blaming it on my age so thanks Soose for inviting me to the group!

Hi, Sunnywray. Welcome. Ten days will be great! I've seen people posting what has changed in only 7 days!

[ I've been thinking lately, as I get older, it just gets harder to HIDE the effects of lifestyle -- poor nutrition and exercise habits. The damage was still being done all those years. That's what I have decided. ]

I've sent you a note in your inbox with a few groups that are active. Seniors there, too.

this is a bit strange how it posts.

Agreed, strange how it posts. The website redo has deficiencies. It's like someone didn't get the settings straight. A pain but we live with it. If you post at the top in the box, some groups and some discussions, it adds it onto the bottom with newest posts last, while others it adds it to the top with newest posts on top, first thing you see. And you can reply to anyone's comment, you have to find the original post and comment there. (Or just add a group level post.)

    Hi Soose

Well, I was really meaning that if we have a ‘condition’ And perhaps we need to still take some type of supplement or something like that, the first guided reboot I did we were just told to come off all supplements. So I did, but I came down with some side effects which, had I stayed on one of the supplements, it would likely not have happened.

Because of my eye/vision issue, I’m making sure I take a supplement including lutein and zeazanthin etc.

@Maisie, ahh, thanks so much for clarifying for me.

Sorry I was misreading your post!

I'm definitely in the camp of those not planning to discontinue the healthy supplements I take; in fact, I may add more of the ones my spouse is taking for specific conditions. Even if we're juicing and nutrition is superb, I think there are some other ingredients which may be missing in my intake.

Hope you find someone who shares your eye / vision issue, so you can compare notes. My eyes are definitely worse and I do hope my eyesight improves with juicing, but I haven't been diagnosed with anything yet. Just the toll taken from the years of eating poorly. :(

For many years, I've seen arthritis as an inflammation issue. That's a condition behind much of our ills, I think. And dehydration. And nutrient deprivation.

    Hi

I did a diabetes guided reboot and thyroid. I just saw the other groups on here and I definitely fit in his one. I’m 60.

I do wonder about getting all that’s needed for the various ailments we have as older juicers. I had great success with the guided reboots but can’t keep doing them. Also, a lot of my questions seem to have been to ‘tailor’ the rebooot around some of the conditions, arthritis of course, but I also have an eye complaint which I can’t afford to get any worse. So hoping we all can help each other on here and share experiences, etc.

Hi, Maisie. Interesting, the idea of tailoring the juice to our conditions as seniors. I don't know what to think or where to go with it. No answers or even enough to discuss with you at this point, I'm afraid. (Anyone ever seen any writings targeting seniors and juicing?) Should we just rely upon the wisdom of our bodies if we detox and get out of the way? Sorry to ramble, I do find I'm very confused about this issue.

anyone still in this group? i LOVE this post. i am also raising my grandies so my physical energy level is extremely important to keep up. i'm on day 5 and have some real brain fog/tired and fear this isn't going to change anything. which is probably my mind tricking me into quitting... anyhoo, day 5 i should be further along, right? my arthritis is really diminished though!! i hope we can pick up this group again at some point. wake up, ya ole hipsters!!

I am on the Feb 5 15 Day guided reboot and today is Day 15. I made it which makes me feel really happy, with so many positive changes in such a short time. Stiffness in muscles gone, soreness in aches in joints and bones gone, Down 13.5 lbs in 15 days, 5 of which were the transition eating, and now for those who want to go on we can repeat. I opted to carry on, but eat a meal a day with the juice cause our coach suggests this may be a good idea for me, and I agree. I am feeling a little forlorn though as we wind down, mainly because we are coming to the end of our fasting feast I guess....yay and boo hoo all at the same time...anyone else juicing and eating one meal a day? - See more at: http://community.rebootwithjoe.com/groups/view/code/VTNPLWVWHHKFR9FT9VHS?wp=1#post-entry-68928

How are you doing by the way. Have not heard a peep for a while! I think I shall leave this group as it does not seem to be functioning...they all must have succeeded in their journey! See ya in a different group! Juice on fellow senior rebooter
