Hello Happy Juicers! I posted here yesterday however it is not here! Drinking a watermelon fennel juice I needed to cut down my fennel plants as they were falling over on my eggplant. So I made a huge batch of juice using the stems and leaves of the fennel which gives it a taste of licorice juice, covering up the watermelon and very sweet tasting. I always loved black licorice as a kid, so it is very pleasing to me. I usually use the bulb which does not have the strong licorice flavor that the stems and leaves do however all parts of the plant are edible, so I decided to use wat I grew vs buying fennel bulbs and I am glad I did.

iamFIT, I find even planning for 6 moths is a daunting task! One day at a time or 1 week at a time then you can plan to keep doing what you know is best for you or take a day off (exercise) Find something you like to do and do it.

Hey Happy Juicers, been gone awhile busy trying to pack things up and donate books and clothes and now that is done, I have to box up the books my daughter wants for Wyatt and herself. Plus I was doing a 20 day detox with a few one day breaks, 3 to be exact. Lost a total of 16 lbs. Still have a lot to do in the garden the hardest stuff is done, the sunflower house is growing strong. I have been cleaning the bathrooms this morning no walking for 3 weeks due to the heavy garden work and 90+ degree days. Working a minimum of 5 hrs each day in the garden and it has to start early, so by the time I am done it is too hot to walk so I have been packing books. These books we have been collecting, 27 years and longer. I have several large boxes of children's books and Wyatt is just getting to the stage of life where he will be interested in them. So those I will have to take over to them, the others are some civil war books I collected when we first moved here that we will take, and another series of books we will take. Most of the books are already donated to the library. About 8 boxes and I found a few others tucked away so another box to go to the library.

I also have a large DVD collection and we really do not watch DVD's so I need to have my daughter go through and take all the kids ones she wants, if they won't play on her DVD player I will have to give her mine which plays VHS and DVD. I bought it to transfer my VHS tapes of my daughters childhood to DVD, and now I am trying to get them all on flash drives. All of this takes a lot of time so I won't be on much. But I will try and get on a few times each week. Had watermelon fennel today and have Hawaiian Pear for later. Going to plant the morning glories to posts I placed around the sunflower house so they can grow up the poles and form a roof to the sunflower house when they reach the top. Juice On!

Can hardly wait to have time to run/walk again. But I know I am getting my steps in gardening and probably expending more energy!

leslie, happy for you you lost weight, were you juicing all the while? then that is good news

  • Leslie

Yes I was juicing with a few days of eating, I figure it is better to start juicing even if you have plans and just skip a day of juicing here and there than to not start at all.
