I didn't do too well today. I had juice and water only till I came home and ....just had to have these peanuts. From there it just went down the hill: pasta with tomato sauce for dinner. The fact that I am a designated cook in my family doesn't help at all. I will have to try juicing only tomorrow. If the same repeats I will modify my plan to clean eating and juicing. Then my husband and sone will be away for 2 weeks in June and maybe then I will find it easier to stick to the plan since I won't have to cook!

i did the same thing the other night…couldn't resist my good cooking (although my opinion is biased), however, just keep plugging along… yesterday wasn't good but you did make it until dinner. take these small achievements and run with it...

Hi All, I'm on day four and found the first 3 days till the evening of day 3 really easy. Just some tiredness. Then I started to get aches and pains all over my body and i still have them at the start of day 4. Its bearable and no thoughts about straying from the juice fast.

I juiced a water melon last night with the skin on with blueberries and spinach. It was not pleasant. I googled it first to check about the seeds and read that the skin is great too so i put the lot in. Do you recommend the skin and seeds? It didn't taste great and my stomach feels a little queasy at the thoughts of juice this morning. Onwards! i'll be fine after my lemon water.

I really like and identify with the shares here. I've also been fluctuating 15-20 IIbs for the past number of years and it was beginning to climb higher. I've completely given up on exercise and am a bit down in myself to be honest. I want to do this fast for my physical and mental well being. I got to take a few days away to do this as I knew I wouldn't manage it with work and kids. I went straight to the juice fast as I could only take 5 days away. I'm returning home on Friday (day 6) to the family and am nervous about the weekend. I'll be minding 10 (5 year olds) for an hour on Friday at lunchtime and then 3 for the afternoon. It can be done. The shares are preparing me. Any tips to speed up the aches and the headache? I'm thinking extra water today and tomorrow and get some fresh air and a walk in to help with the detox.

I've been watching and reading a lot about plant based diets and veganism since I've been away and I think I want to go this route. I haven't got a scale as I didn't want to get hung up on numbers. I haven't decided how long to do this fast for - 10/15/21 days - I'm just taking it one day at a time. I would definitely like to do 10 anyway and get to the good feelings. How long to get there? Thanks for being here. Anne

Hi All...I'm on my 2nd day. I've joined because I'm struggling and don't want to quit. I have a similar story... was thin all of my life with one or two years of weight gain/loss. I'm 46 and now 30+ pounds overweight. I have been lazy and have had too many happy hours! I'm a teacher and counselor at a college. I could really use support. :)

Whoo hoo if all you have to lose is 30lbs girl you'll get there in no time! I had 130lbs to lose, and now I only have a paltry 7.7 (But when i weigh myself tomorrow morning I expect to be down another .7 at least). I think it's safe to say the majority of us in this specific group all are similar in that we fluctuate and have adopted a lazy pill for too long. Getting in to a rhythm of juicing and exercising is hard at first but I found once I started to do both every single day they truly became 2nd nature and a habit. I would find myself going crazy if I missed a day of exercise or just so happen to have to do it later in the day then I wanted too. It's a far cry from 6 months ago where I was 122.5lbs bigger then what I am now, sitting in front of the television for 6-10 hours planning out what my next un healthy meal was going to be and continuing a lazy cycle. It's funny how things can change so quickly. You have come to the perfect website for support. Welcome to this group and feel free to ask any questions or concerns you may have! Not everyone knows how much juice to drink in a day, how much water, when hunger pains turn off, when mental cravings go away, importance of protein for Juice Reboots longer then 15 days, etc etc. So definitely don't be a stranger!

I'm only on day 4 but from what i hear once you make it past 6 days it becomes easier…if you slip up don't worry just continue juicing and eventually it will become a part of your lifestyle.

Day 7 on the reboot. Feeling really good this morning. I can feel the fat melting off of me so much that I couldn't resist weighing myself this morning. Down 8 lbs. This is a bit of an extreme approach but it's gratifying to get such fast results and to feel this good. Rhonda I definitely have the same issue. I'm hoping that I can get to where I want and then maintain it for good this time. Before this recent weight gain I had maintained my weight for about 2 years with fluctuations of 5 lbs. For me the key was weighing myself daily and if my weight was creeping up then I'd do something to nip it in the bud. And this was at a realistic weight for me: 140-145. I fantasize about being 130 but I wanted to be gentler on myself and just focus on being healthy. I don't want to be obsessive about the scale but it worked to keep me from spiralling into the 15-20 lbs up that happened this last time when I threw in the towel and gave myself license to eat whatever I wanted. Anyway, I'm glad to be on this reboot. Welcome onboard.

I have come to the realization that this is what i do. Put on 15-20 and then take it off. ive been doing this my whole life, I never feel good with the 15-20 on and hae no clue why I cant just normalize this process. I am begining to beleive that this is a habit more than anything else and I really need some new habits... starting a 15 day juice fast tomorrow... New support thanks Rhonda

This is so easy to do when the food, air, and water we eat, drink, and breathe all contain toxins that make us sick. When it comes to food the best choices you can make is basically this: Whole Food and Plant based. This entails Beans, Nuts, Seeds, Fungii, whole grains, vegetables, fruit, and some healthy oil. Generally speaking, you can eat ALL of these that you want and you never have to calorie count. All of these foods are high in disease prevention and low in disease causing. Now for the other side. All of these foods are void of nutrition for the most part and are high in disease causing agents and low in disease prevention substances. Bad oil, meat, dairy, refined foods (like white rice instead of brown rice), and processed foods (chips, noodles, white flour, sausage, pepperoni, hamburger helper, cookies, cakes, etc etc). Artificial sweeteners are awful, artificial colors are bad, MSG is bad, fluoride that's added into the water is freaking awful (Steam distillation is the only way I know of to eradicate fluoride), the amount of sodium/cholesterol in many products are straight criminal. This society is trying to kill you around every corner girl =\

In FSND Joe shows a graph of the modern Americans diet. 60% of the daily calories that most people consume all come from processed foods. 30% comes from meat sources. 5% comes from whole grains and starches. The last 5% is coming from fruits and vegetables. Whether you are only on a Modified, Juice Only, or Eating Reboot (Or Neither)....you want your personal "Calorie Graph" to contain as much of the Whole Food Plant Based as you can. The higher this % is on your personal graph the better off you will be (Including weight stability too). As I was saying this helps prevent disease as well as helps send many into remission.

I know where you're coming from in terms of weight fluctuation Rhonda. For me it's been two pronged. I have lived a sedentary lifestyle for too long (television, time on the computer, reading) as well as having poor food choices (Burgers & Fries, Burritos, Pizza, Chinese, Sweets, Chips....just a lot of empty and un-filling calories). I have no doubt that if you put your heart and soul into whatever choices in life you decide that you can and will be a success.

I am always here if you have any questions during your Reboot (How much water/juice to drink in a day, "Detox Hell Week Symptoms", protein concerns, fighting cravings, is there anything other then just juice and water that I can have? etc etc.) Feel free to post or send me a message. Welcome to this community! -JAJ

Day 6. I've been posting daily but skipped yesterday. Funny: Day 4 I was jubilant and inspired then Day 5 was a bit of a crash where I was dealing with my own negative self talk: How did I let myself get this way? I kept beating myself up over all the unconsious eating I had been doing. Eating just for the taste. Not listening to my body. Then the thought of how long it was going to take me to get back to where I was, which, at the time, I still felt I needed to lose a few pounds. Anyway, enough of that! I'm just going to keep going, one foot in front of the other and try to be kind to myself. One thing I really love about this program is that I genuinely love the taste of the juices, all of them. And Sarah, if you're starting 10 days today, you're right in line with me on my 15 day reboot.

Today is my first day of all juice. I'm curious to see how that goes. My hunger came back with a fury yesterday. It seems to still be there after my morning juice but we'll see as the day goes. Have a great day everyone!

Juice Only Rebooter's need 64fl oz of juice a day, minimum. No and's if's or but's. Feel free to drink more though as this only helps and doesn't hinder your efforts in any way. As far as water goes 48fl oz is the minimum amount to drink. You can drink more then this but just be sure to never drink more than a gallon of liquid in an hour, you don't want to die.

When it comes to hunger pains I have 2 things to say. 1) Hunger pains take 72-96 hours for your body to "shut off". Once your digestive system is shut down (Which is a good thing for Juice Rebooter's) then your brain/stomach stop sending and receiving these signals. Your body learns to adapt and use your juice as it's "Food". So hunger pains should be gone after your first 4 days. 2) If it's been longer then 4 days, you have been drinking 64floz of juice a day AND you still have hunger pains (And you are 100% positive it's NOT mental cravings but actual hunger) then there is only 1 solution. Your body is wanting another glass of juice. Instead of four--16oz juices, give yourself a fifth 16oz glass. If you have been running low on energy I encourage you to drink another glass but also incorporate some green fruits/veggies into your juices. Or you can make a straight Green Only Juice. Here is this websites list of Juices currently compiled:

    http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/category/blog/recipes...

Here is a substitution list in case some of these ingredients make you run to the hills:

    http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/juicing/substitution-...

I want you all to know as well....once you get through your first 7-10 days or what I like to call "Detox Hell Week" where you can feel a huge range of negative symptoms and emotions, and once you get your hunger pains turned off, you have 1 more final obstacle to face. Mental Cravings!!! Mental cravings/addictions take 10-45 days to turn off. Everyone is different so there's no telling what to expect. But I have seen peoples cravings disappear fast and some take longer. Mine took 30 days and a few lucky friends were good by day 20. If you are not doing a Reboot longer then 2 weeks then it's safe to say this will be your biggest challenge daily. Draw upon the strength from all of those in this community who have experienced this journey and know what you are going through. You are worth it. No mountain is to steep to climb. If you fall 10 feet back, you can always climb 20 feet forward. I, and many others, are cheering you on. Keep at it and go get your prize! -JAJ

P.S. No Caffeine/De-caffinated tea IS reboot friendly. I like African Solstice, Mint, and Chamomile. You can also make some fresh juice popsicles for a special treat throughout the day. Juice On!!

I like to think of will power and "optimism" like a muscle. The less you work either of them out or put them to use the more and more they degrade. Whereas the more you use them the stronger they get with an added bonus of them truly becoming a part of your character (IE: If you were a walking pessimist like I was). Don't be worried! I know you are taking a leap of faith into a pool of water where you may not be able to see what is at the bottom but I assure you there are a ton of us bottom dwellers here lol! We have seen everything there is to be seen. Ask, ask, and ask! As a matter of fact--Re watch FSND 1/2 as well as Super Juice Me and try your best to absorb what it is they are trying to teach as well. I am always here to answer any questions and if I some how don't know it I can dig it out of my resources. Don't let your hubby eat bad food in front of you when you are struggling either lol! Certain triggers can make people "break" on their Juice Only Reboots and eliminating any and all temptation by changing your environment and mind set can only help your success (Especially early in their Juice Journey). Even if you did fall, there's always another reboot waiting for you when you decide to get up =) -JAJ

That'd be amazing! That must have felt great! Congratulations! I would be ecstatic if I lost 10 (and tempted to keep going). Today my hunger has greatly subsided. I actually am finding it hard to get all the food in me today. I have never eaten so many vegetables in a day! 10-15 large green leafs in my lunch salad equals like a whole head of romaine lettuce. Lots of chewing value. It struck me while I was eating that this is me taking extremely good care of my body and it feels right. On the other hand when I've been eating crap it's like a form of self-abuse and truthfully that's what it feels like. I guess it's all about balance but right this moment I am feeling this reboot is exactly what I need. Feeling inspired!
