    Hey Veggie haters,

I have actually eaten steamed broccoli with brown rice and General Tso tempeh my husband made last night and enjoyed it. You can change your taste buds. I hope more of you have success with liking veggies more since rebooting.

    Hey Lalune,

You still out there? We are doing great eating our plant based diet after the 50 day reboot. I thought I would let you know that I sent my fitbit back. That was before I broke my toe. My hubby really wanted a instant pot and the fitbit was fun but it really didn't make that big of a difference just something to play with. He has had more fun with his instant pot and making plant based meals. He had made refried beans and cooked black beans. It takes no time to cook in that instant pot. The brown rice was fluffy and really great better then the rice maker. We are enjoying eating everything home made and plant based and this reboot did change my taste buds. I am enjoying my veggies a lot more. The huge salads with bell peppers all colors of course. Even mushrooms are okay in my salad. I actually had broccoli in a stir fry with cauliflower. I asked my hubby for more guacamole he almost cried. My niece puts lime zest in her guacamole and it makes it taste awesome. If people want to change their eating habits I really feel they need a reboot of 10 days or more to make those changes something they can stick with and it is really worth it.

Thanks for checking back in and sharing! You are so right about the retraining of taste buds, that was a completely unexpected result and I look forward to digging into more plant-based meals when I'm done! Adding lemon and lime for some zesty tang will also be a new trick I'll bring into things, like your niece's guacamole. Thanks for the tip on the fitbit. I'd really like to try it because of the sleep thing, but didn't want to buy full price. I have more hope now with your comments that I'll find one on Craigslist once people tire of theirs. My 60 days is over tomorrow, but I'm going to continue. I've only lost 25 lbs and want to get down 25-35. Going to have to W O R K H A R D E R! (meaning exercise more regularly lol). Time to step up my game!

And actually, I broke out the Wii Fit recently. Wii Fit says it's been 1809 days since he last saw me. 4.96 years! Yikes how time flies. If I use that, it'll be somewhat of a motivator with how it keeps track of things, charts progress, etc etc. And I can add any treadmill walking into the Wii Fit records.

Now that we have transitioned to eating I am amazed how my taste buds have changed. I am eating veggies and enjoying them. You can retrain those taste buds if you stick with your reboot. I am loving the veggies it is a miracle.

I think kale growing season is winter time and it slows down so it is not as bountiful.

Question to the group: how many drinks are you getting out of your kale? When I started this 47 days ago, one bunch of kale ended up being used for four recipes which made eight drinks. NOW for the last few weeks, there's barely enough kale leaves in a bunch to be divided between TWO recipes which is outputting only ONE drink!! I had to cut the juice with leftover cheese whey to make up what was missing for my usual two drinks.

    Well veggie haters,

We finished our reboot 10 days early since my sister and kids came to visit. We went 50days. It was amazing. One goal I accomplished was retraining my taste buds. We are eating plant based or vegan now. I have eaten cauliflower, mushrooms, guacamole with avocado, snap peas in my salad and enjoyed them. Still not fond of raw tomatoes. I think it's the texture with the seeds and how watery it is. My mother would never have believed this was possible being a veggie hater all my life that I would even try these things. I am still not craving sugar. We are eating huge salads. My hubby made homemade vegan refried beans and tortilla shells which were amazing. I made vegan sour cream which was awesome. It was made from cashews. We are having fun cooking together good clean foods. I found out before my sister got here she was doing a 10 day reboot. My hubby and I made it to 50 days. Of course, my walking will be put off I broke my toe on the same foot I am recovering from a broken ankle. The ER Doc told me to contact my surgeon since the toe is leaning the wrong direction. He hopes when the swelling goes down maybe it won't be as bad and they won't have to do anything with it. What can I say except I am a dangerous person when walking.

Congrats to you and your husband, eurocatbaby! It's been great hearing your experiences, thanks for sharing. That is one side benefit I've found with this reboot. I have a renewed interest in cooking and trying new things. Can't wait for my 60 days to be over to get at it. I'm on day 44 and still no problem sticking to it. I think when I'm done, I'll continue to juice at least once a day, maybe twice. If I don't do that and start seeing my weight begin to rise, I'll do mini-reboots to get things back in order, maybe the 10 day ones. Good luck with your toe, so sorry to hear you're damaged again! All the best to you both.

Hey all, how is everyone doing with their juicing? Personally I've leveled off and am now walking every day. Been doing that for about 4 days or so, and now things are starting to move down the scale again in small increments.

Hello all! Hope everyone is having a good day and managing their reboot. Started Jan 25th and doing a 45 day juice only. Have one cheat week to contend with, mom's b'day and 24 hour movie marathon for Oscars, so kinda nervous since afraid to eat something that will send me back to my old ways. I have a great support system that will toe me back in line if I slip, so hoping I don't! Anyhoo, I'm not sure, but it seems to me that you guys are not in the same league as me. I say this because you all seem to be able to tolerate these juices. Before the reboot, I would probably say my veggie intake for 1 year would be 5%. I lived on fast food, take-out and unhealthy snacks. So far, my favorite juices are Australia Gold and Mexi Cali. I know I can't live on these and find that the other juice that I've tried from his book 101 juice recipes are nasty. I've tried to incorporate veggies that I've never tried before (fennel) and try to keep it the color of the rainbow, but it's a VERY big struggle. I've lost 7.8 pounds since Monday and that's GREAT, but it would be nice to enjoy my meals and not dread them. I also hate coconut water and so that's also a problem. I see some recipes listed here, but are these reboot approved? Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. So far I can only tolerate three juices a day.

Hi Kimmy66. Any of the recipes I've put were from the 101 juice app, I've been using that all of the time, except for one soup. I swear by putting ice in the juices. I don't think I could tolerate them without the ice. It was mentioned to me that if the recipe doesn't have an "R" in its name, it's not a reboot recipe. I didn't know that and assumed all of them in the 101 list were fine but not I stick to the "R" juices. There was one Thai butternut squash soup recipe that I added here that I don't think is on the plan, but it's one that I cheat with once a week because it's so freaking awesome :) Good luck and I hope you find some juices you can tolerate. I've really been surprised.

Kimmu66, There is a juice under the red sections I think it is called green pom pom. There are two pom pom drinks but get the one that has an R for reboot. It calls for spinach and pomegranates. When I made it I didn't have all the pomegranates it calls for because my hubby and I have to double the recipes with two drinking. It called for 1 cup pomegranates but in the back page of the book it says you can substitute strawberries for pomegranates. So I do one cup pomegranates and 1 cup strawberries. It is truly amazing it reminds me of a strawberry crush pop I had as a kid. But don't let it sit in the fridge long it ferments and no so good. We are on day 38 and it was hard at first with the veggies. My father use to say I hated anything good for me. My mom wouldn't believe I am drinking my veggies. You do get use to them after a while. There is another drink under the red section that I think is called sunburst or something with red peppers which is good. Just remember how the veggies are helping give you the nutrients you need. I dream of cooking veggies now.
