It's been a long time since I've been on the site however - the really good news is that I kept the weight off and now I'm going to do some more! The incredible first phase had me really control my eating which is amazing, I lost 25 lbs. I'm going to do it again and try to lean more to the juicing lifestyle, it's great that we are in our spring as I plan on planting some veggies as well :-)

    Hello!

    How is everyone doing?

I started a 15 day reboot this week. I've started juice fasts in the past but have never gone past 3 days, so I am excited to see and feel the results of this reboot!

I will keep you posted with the results! :-)

I saw Joe Cross at the Barnes and Noble on Tuesday night in Bethesda. He was on a book tour and stopped there for a book signing. Talk about motivation...I am so focused now after seeing him. He is a down-to-earth kind of guy and truly an inspiration!

Day 20 - ARRRGH! Got caught in a meeting without my juice and the lunch offering only had "pasta" salad and sandwiches. I ended up eating a eggplant sandwich as the vegetarian sandwich had cheese (they couldn't do wraps?) and about an hour after I ate it I had such a headache! But of course my spiral fall didn't end there, I ended up with these people going to dinner at a Lebanese place at which I had a seafood bouilliabaise. I felt so stuffed by the time I was home last night I was having trouble drinking water. What I didn't realize was the amount of salt in these foods and I was so parched but too full to drink. Tough day. Cleansing again today, had the apple, carrot, ginger this morning, going for the Mean Green in a few minutes. Maybge it should be Day 20/1 :-).

DAy 19 - fortunately I had some homemade lentil soup I set up in the crock-pot for when I got home. Thought my face was going to fall off! Highly recommend picking up flannel lined chinos if you want some good winter pants. I got mine last year on-line, $26/pr and I take them to my dry cleaners ($1.75/item) and then clean and press them so they are rocking for the office. Awesome when you have to stand outside on a platform waiting for a bus, metro or train. HAving a bog glass of grapefruit, orange, carrot and ginger this morning...think I'll put ginger in everything from now on...want that vitamin C in this weather to fight off colds. Yes, I do know that you don;t get colds from the weather, but it seems like most people get colds during this weather. Tally ho!

Day 18 - going to try out the Crimson Zinger (or variation thereof) if that beats out the beet taste. Made a Pale Morning today - 1/2 Pinapple, 1 navel orange, 1 carrot, 1 lemon, 1 inch chunk ginger. Discovered I can peel lemons like oranges, who would of think it. Drinking it now - yummy. Have a training session today from 9 - 6, have some frozen juice with me I made last night to take. Probably will indulge in salad at lunch today.

Day 17 - up way too early for a Sunday :-) Did not get to my new juice recipe yesterday, ended up doing errands and shopping with wifey. However, as a result did stop at grocery store (next to bank) and picked up two small bottles of Bolthouse Farms juices and stopped in a Robeks later on and had a Crazy Carrot. Both were interesting - 1) my juicing at home tastes the same which tells me that I am doing it right and 2) beets taste the same juiced everywhere. 3) Bolthouse was on sale and I figure even at that price it's about 2 X as expensive as when I make it at home and Robeks is about 4 X as expensive - but they are both functions of convenience. Will start looking around for other juice bars and pricing them as well. While I was at the supermarket picking up the juice I walked around and heard my inner voice looking at stuff saying, " Nope, not that, nuh uh, nah..." Feeling good.

Day 16 - At a plateau on the weight, which was to be expected at some point. Need to increase my activity. Hard to do when it's 9 degrees outside :-). Going to try a new recipe with sweet potato, beet (I know - ugh), grapes, pineapple and carrot today. I'm hoping the pineapple will offset some of the earthiness of the beet & potato. I'll let you know. Pineapples were $1.40 each at H Mart so I bought two :-).
