    Hello,

Thank you for the good wishes on my next "watch". Thank you also for being my group mate. If you had not joined, I would have ended my reboot before it started. I hope you log back in again, to see this message of gratitude to you.

Congrats also on your reboot, and how well it turned out - you said "I was happy with not only my results, but how I felt". Given that, it is definitely worth finding that groove and keeping those positive results going.

That "groove" is what I am looking for as well - how to CONSISTENTLY incorporate juice into my daily routine. I saw a documentary called Hunger for Change that spoke to that. I need to pull that up again - and maybe watch it every single day. I recommend it to you as well - if you haven't already seen it.

I am going to keep posting to this group, as I move forward - so don't be surprised if you see me here.

    Take care and stay juiced.

I extended my reboot but haven't been successful with that. I just went back to work and am trying to find a groove. Do I want to juice during the day and eat dinner at night? Juice for breakfast, bring lunch to work, and juice at night? I'm going to experiment and see what works. I was happy with not only my results, but how I felt. I think instead of extending, I'll do new reboots. Good luck during your next round!

Hi! My 30 days end on September 13th. I feel like Jon Snow, my watch is ending - and I am ready for it to end!

It has not been a complete failure, but this reboot was pretty off track. Travel and work, especially this last week at work, didn't help. That is life though and I need to be able to eat healthy in spite of it - which is not happening now. Still planning, but I will try to do this quarterly and only for 10 days.

    How is your reboot going?

Hi!!!! I got back from Va. and then was planning my daughter's baby shower- I haven't had a minute to log on here! I haven't been doing so well since family has been visiting but am back on track tomorrow. I find that I'm all or nothing. Once I let the salt or chocolate in, I crave more. I haven't been able to balance juicing with food yet. I did not convert anyone and did get some comments but I really didn't care!

Like you said, preparation is key. If I don't have something ready and I allow myself to get hungry, that's when the problems begin. If anything, I'm learning about myself and what it takes For me to be successful at a life long healthy way of living.

    And coffee, yes please!!

Hi Jessica. How are you doing? How is the veggie/juice fast going?

My first 10 days were mixed, mostly due to my lack of preparation, which I have been working to improve. I've had a tough time especially with coffee, picking it up every once in a while. My schedule is picking up and I am going to be having longer hours until after the 16th, so preparation will be key and getting more sleep, so that the coffee is not such a draw, is essential.

    Enjoy the upcoming holiday.

Hi Jessica. Wow, great that you brought your juicer. I am inspired by you. Glad your trip is going well, how did your family react to the morning juicing? Did you convert anybody?

My road trip to Canada went well. For the trip down I took that cucumber tomato salad (in mason jars) and wasn't tempted by the rest stop food - except coffee which I needed for the drive. BTW Starbucks has coconut milk now. During the trip, I had a couple of regular meals, including some veggies and fruit (a really great mango, carrot salad which I helped to make). BUT I did lose ground as I continued to do the Canada type meals when I came back.

Today I am on to juice. Cucumber, apple and ginger for the next couple of days. No particular reason for that combination other than I have those items in my fridge. So I am on the horse and riding.

    Hi Jessica,

I hope you are enjoying your trip. I will be away till next week and not too sure I will be able to log in.

I think your plan for eating is a good one. That is my plan too. I think it is best for me to be open to eating, with a focus on the veggie/fruit zone, than to feel deprived watching everybody else. And for me, when I say to myself "you can't" something in me wants to have it even more. So, I am going to allow myself to make time with family my priority on this trip - thankyouverymuch.

Your looking forward to a salad and some raisins sounds about right. I remember Joe talking about how our taste buds kind of reboot themselves too, so that we're able to appreciate the true taste of food again. I am looking forward to that too.

Enjoy your trip and have fun reconnecting with family. Will be back on board next week.

Hey!! I actually am enjoying my trip, which is quite surprising! There has also been a change in plans- I brought my juicer and am juicing most of the time. I told myself that I didn't care what they had to say, I was doing this for me. That being said, I have eaten two regular dinners with family that certainly did not focus on veggies and fruit (whoops!). But every morning I get back up and back on track. Even if I don't lose weight this week, I want to at least not lose all my progress. Hope your trip is going well! Talk to you when you get back!

Hello. I hope you had a good time at dinner and a joyful family celebration! BTW good strategy to take the cupcakes to the park, so you would not be tempted.

I had a better day today. Not perfect, but better. I'm going to take your suggestion to heart and count it as a win. I've been making a salad with avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro (which I love), red onions (which I don't love), lemon juice, salt, pepper and olive oil (

). BTW I use less oil that the video vixen (wink). It's a great dinner, especially when I add in some arugula. I remember the sweet potato fries, so will try them again using Joe's recipe.

Yep, most bets are off for next week. My vacation involves a long road trip, with family, to meet up with more family. I had remembered in the movie that Joe had a generator in the back of his car and he would stop for veggies along the way to juice. I can't do that, I just can't. So those days will be free stylin' with a focus on the veggie/fruit zone. I promise not to go looking for any dangerous foods (here's looking at you poutine), but I don't want to spend the time explaining juicing to my family and then have them, with all the love possible, clocking my every meal - while discussing how I managed to gain all this weight if juicing actually works. Do you sense the tension here already? I haven't even gotten into the car.

I am going to keep in mind: though there will always be obstacles - we can do this! I appreciate your support as well. Thank you so much.

I hope your day is going well. Take care.

I 100% get the explaining to family thing! I'm going to VA next week to visit my In laws and thought the SAME THING. I don't want to hear opinions (I've already heard from friends how I'll gain double the weight back when I stop) and I don't want anyone else tracking my meals or asking "should you be having that?" If I want it, I'll have it thankyouverymuch! I also don't want to spend the entire time watching everyone else eat. All I will be thinking about is food and if I should have some, maybe just a bite, okay the whole thing... Then I'll spend the rest of the time feeling guilty. That is no way to spend time with family! I'm going to control my portions and that's that. I also will take your suggestion and focus on the veggies and fruit.

I think when you do find time to fully commit and then succeed, your family will be all "how'd you do that??" And THEN you can explain to them and maybe inspire a few ;)

That salad looks delicious!! I've noticed that I've been craving foods that I normally wouldn't. I find myself actually looking forward to a salad or a handful of raisins. I think that means it's working!

    Enjoy the evening,

    Jessica

Hey Jessica. Congratulations on successfully completing Day 3 and beyond! ESPECIALLY being at the beach and so close to boardwalk temptations. Having a plan going in (your making the smoothies and juices to take with you) speaks highly about your commitment and your success. Give yourself some props girl! What type of soups are you making? How are you using the soup? I can see it would definitely provide higher volume for lower calories. Do you find that it is key to your staying on track?

I have to tell you that I have had a couple of rough days. I did make Church on Sunday (yeah), but never made it to Fairway or Costco and therefore did not juice anything. I tried to focus on veggies and fruit, but I was only about 75% compliant. So today I am making a concerted effort to get on track. I am on my way to Costco first and then Fairway - we don't have an H-Mart. I will return home with raw materials for today and tomorrow. I am hedging my bets a bit by only buying two days of supplies, but I don't want to end up with wasted veggies in the fridge - as I am going away next week.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your daughter and very best wishes for the year to come!! Enjoy the day and enjoy whichever cake your decided on. Miserable and deprived are not words to be used, or experienced, on such a happy day. The main thing is to enjoy her celebration and to be grateful that you are here to celebrate it with her. Congratulations again to your daughter and I hope your whole family has a great day!

THANK YOU!!! She ended up meeting up with a bunch of friends in the park and ordering pizza. I brought a bunch of cupcakes up to them and was not tempted at all since cupcakes aren't my favorite. We may go to dinner later tonight or later in the week and I'll drink plenty of water, have a salad and THEN eat whatever I want! Hopefully there won't be too much room to fill after that.

I haven't done the soups yet. I've been really busy and have mostly been doing the juices which means I'm not eating as much as I should. I don't really like many foods so I'd rather just suck it all down in a juice. I've also been doing the salads and sweet potato fries.

What I like is that many recipes make more than one meal. I think it's easier if you have all the ingredients you need for a few days. Wasted veggies would be a shame though! Are all bets off for the week you are away? I can't imagine doing this on the go. I'm sure the extremely committed can, not sure I could!

Way to go with trying to stay on track even without juice! Even if it's not "perfect" it's probably a lot better than what you would have done if you weren't making a conscious effort. I see that as a win!

Thank you for the encouragement and support! There will always be obstacles- we can do this!

Hi Jessica. Welcome!!! I am so happy to that you decided to join.

I woke up this morning feeling pretty stiff and just like "oh no". I remember that feeling after a pint of Haagen Dazs or four Mamita's popsicles (which has been my latest indulgence). So I can absolutely relate - and know that it is time for me to pick up the juice. I am not sure how I will handle the days I am on vacation (which involves a family BBQ) but will have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

I did a 10 day juice/veggie fast last month and I felt so much better. But after the 10 days, I went right back to my old way of eating. I think a longer stint would be better for me. In terms of losing weight I had been down 5 pounds after the 10 days, but those have come back as well. Since you're on day 2, I will do my best to get on track. As far as weigh in's I am going to check daily, in the morning. I hadn't thought too much about exercise (I know, duh!) but I will be walking initially. So today I am going to Church, to Fairway/Costco for raw materials and for a walk.

I am looking forward to our posts. Have a "juiced day".
