It is Saturday, so I have a little more time to experiment with different juice recipes. I had some strawberries and green grapes to use up, so found a reboot with joe recipe called "Summer Camp Juice". It was delicious. It has grapes, strawberries, apple, and romaine lettuce in it. It is definitely more than 20 % fruit juice, but it was a nice change from Joe's Mean Green all week. Finished up my strawberries, and now looking for recipes to use up some good looking watercress. Have a great day of healthy living!

Day 5 for me and making progress on my juice only 60 day reboot. I find that I need 96 ounces of juice to make it through the day. Today one of my glass jars of juice broke, so I was stuck with only 64 ounces today. I got really really hungry.......I did not have time to juice a second time today, so did eat some food this afternoon. It was an interesting experiment that confirmed that I need 96 ounces to stick to the juice only reboot.

I also spent time today figuring out how many calories are in my 96 ounces of juice. In the "Reboot with Joe" book, they list over 36 juice recipes and each one has a Nutrition per Serving label that includes the calories. I do 80% veggies and 20% fruit so one serving (which Joe defines as 16 ounces) is about 125 calories. That is important to note because most people think one serving is 8 ounces, but the "Reboot with Joe" considers one serving 16 ounces and recommends 4 to 6 servings per day.

Then I figured out how many calories I have to burn through exercise to lose one pound a week. 3,500 calories ! That is 500 calories per day. That means I have to walk about 1.5 hours each day to burn enough calories to lose one pound a week through exercise. Good to know. It definitely got me motivated to get outside and work out today.

    Have a great juice day.......

Life is getting simpler on this reboot plan. My refrigerator has nothing but produce, and I get up early each day to watch the sun rise and do my 64 ounces of juicing for the day. My queasy tummy is better and my energy is up. I also seem to need less sleep at night. For years I have been a 8 to 9 hours of sleep. I have noticed that I am waking up after just 6 to 7 hours of sleep. Very interesting..........

Happy to report that I finished Day 4 with alot of energy. I am trying to drink my 64 ounces of juice before 6 pm, otherwise I notice that the nutrients and nourishment of the juice keep me wide awake at night. Look forward to a good night sleep tonight. How is everyone else doing?

On Day 3 and doing well. I drank 96 ounces of juice yesterday and having some detox reactions, so will cut back to 64 ounces today. I am almost done getting rid of all the non-reboot food in my refrigerator and cupboards. I am committed to a 60 day reboot, so no need to hang on to any food that will spoil between now and then. How is everyone else doing?

Day # 3 and glad I am not working today as the tummy growls are really loud! Hubby had a nothing by mouth medical fast yesterday which he broke by drinking my green juice (and liked it) Now I am juicing for 2!

I started my reboot on 1 Feb and it is going well. I have been vegetarian all of my adult life and I eat vegan from time to time. I just bought a Breville Juicer and I love it. I have also had a Vitamix since 1987 and I use it daily but I have never done a juice fast before, so I am hoping that this will be the answer to help me lose 25 pounds that I gained from somewhere.

I am finishing Day 1 on a good note. Despite a long day, I stuck to the plan. Looking forward to Day 2.

Almost finished with day 1! Had to start 2/2 because I worked 13 hour shift 2/1, and that would have been a recipe for disaster! How is everyone doing? Speaking of recipes, the Carrot-Apple-Ginger recipe is a total treat. I found a benefit not mentioned anywhere, but after making Mean Green, my house smelled wonderful!
