Home from work, yeah! I work in a hospital and some days are stressful, this day not so much. Anyway, 20 minutes on the elliptical and 35 minutes on the bike. Proud of myself. Next week I'll work up to 30 minutes on the elliptical and either 30 on the treadmill or 30 on the bike. When I start transitioning, will look at including strength training. Thinking about hiring a professional trainer at the gym to teach me the correct way to use the equipment and get my body back in some kind of shape other than round... :-)

Mrs. D, sorry to hear about the surgery and hospital stay. I agree with being in hospitals, although I work in one, I am not a fan of staying in them for medical issues. I hope this is not a serious issue for you? I think a new group called the transitionals would be an excellent idea. Especially for those of us who are looking for ways to successfully make a go of it. There are a lot of people on here who may be able to help with ideas and recipes! Do you want to take that idea and run with it?

Timm, I started my 15 day reboot on July 21st, so that makes this day 24 with 23 full days completed. I plan on transitioning on the 21st of August which means I'll actually be doing 31 days instead of 30, but I have a reason to my madness. My birthday is the 27th, I have plans for an Navaho feast on that day so want to have at least 5-6 days of eating vegan before I attempt to eat a (small) meal with my family and friends. Hope the rest of y'alls day goes well!!

Hi there - MD, sorry to hear that you need surgery, and that it's forced you to alter your juicing plans. MB, you seem like you're on a roll! I'm still a kind of smoothie guy, but my smoothie's are on the juice-side, and often all juices (made thru my kick-ass masticating juicer), so I'm an experienced "transitional." Onwards to day...what is it? Day 21? 9 more days to go?

Well the upshot of my hospital visit is that they have agreed to postpone surgery for one month subject to review which is fab news. However, i have to incorporate fibre & more protein into my diet, so i will no longer be doing a complete juice fast. I am in this for the long haul so am happy to swap to a 20% solids to keep my consultants etc onboard. And i went for 13 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it will be much more tricky to get a good balance. Not eating is categorical.. Perhaps we should start a new group mb...'the transitionals' !

Not sure where to start really...its a bit sudden...i will read this website info & take it from there

Day 13 or 23? For mb. Well my appetite has returned, so i now i know if that happens again not to worry about doing a complete fast. My first attempt & getting spirulina into my juice was not entirely successful. Couldnt open the packaging, then it went all over my hands. Finally, i dropped half of a tsp of this potent stuff into my juice, but couldnt mix it in. It Just sat on the surface, a dark green blob..so i scooped it out and swallowed it. It smells like fish food...no, thats back to front...fish food smells like it...which i guess makes sense given its algae.

I slept last night. Proper sleep. Which i attribute to giving my gut a complete break...but who knows, could be coincidence.

Have to spend the day in hospital today for various tedious tests & consults. I loathe hospitals...All flourescent lights, municipal colours & vile food. Why isnt medicine & nutrition connected in hospitals. I have spent alot of time in hospital & i always have food brought in or pretend i am kosher or halal ( better food). Anyway, i digress. Be good to hear how everyone is...

Mb - elliptical trainer today or are you pooped (exhausted)?

And, ta dah, day 23 for me, or 13 of the ten day reboot. :-) I'll stick with 23. That means I have seven more full days of the juicing and then my transition. I am forming a plan, gathering some great vegan recipes, and setting a path for success! Well at least I'm going to give it a heck of a try. Feel a little weak this morning but am heading to the gym anyway. If nothing else, I'll try to hit the treadmill for a good walk. Maybe need to increase my intake of juice...seems my desire for juice is waning. But, am always on the lookout for different juice recipes! I'm not one of those creative types so need to have a recipe to follow. Still not going to weigh until day 30. I can see my clothes are getting looser so know I am losing. Good luck everyone!

Well, today my body had no interest in juice whatsoever. It is completely bored of juice in whatever combination. But it doesnt want food either. So i have had a complete fast today. I dont think it is possible to feel more full. I have drunk water but i cant manage anything else.

My spirulina arrived. Hoping that might give me a bit of a kick when i start to use it tomorrow...only half a teaspoon...apparently its quite potent

Let me know. My body goes back and forth between feeling exhausted and feeling happy. Don't know if this is typical...

Day 12, or day 22 of my original start. Went to sleep very early last night, and woke up feeling tired this morning. Going to add my protein into lunch time Mean Green. Will try the gym again tomorrow, think I need to protein "up" before I go with a juice that is designed to boost energy before a workout. And then, a coconut water afterwards. If nothing else, I am a determined woman!

Mrs. D I love the picture of your dog! She's beautiful! Howie, is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound mix. Unlike Izzy, his breed can run up to 30 miles a day, they were breed to hunt lions. Thank heavens he's a mix, I don't think we could do the running a full breed requires. Therefore the daily beach walks. We live four blocks from the beach, about 1/4 mile. Easy walk to and from.

Okay, carrot/apple/ginger drank, water almost done - well at least the first glass - and time to leave for work. Forward on to August 21, my transition day! Good luck everyone! Trust yourself, we can do this!

Mb, am interested to hear if the protein gives you a boost. I am still very tired & am scarcely active

Mrs D it didn't kick in with me until the following day. I took it with my lunch juice and I felt great the next day. I didn't take any for two more days and then took it again. It does seem to help me plus I started back on my vitamins as well. It take one complete vitamin, one B12 and one vitamin D. It has seemed to help with my energy levels. On the other hand, there are days where I am just plain tired! I'm not a young one anymore so I need all of the energy I can get!

Hi all, I've had every juice imaginable today: Beet-based, kale-based, cashew-based. Eyeing shortbread from Harrods - buttery, creamy, devilish shortbread. Back to juice. Thanks for pics of places and dogs - all amazing things in your lives. The greyhound in my profile pic is a friend's, taken in Hyde Park years ago. The loveliest, kindest creature. - See more at: http://community.rebootwithjoe.com/groups/view/code/3ACVTK5J5XN73UMNFK5P?wp=1#post-entry-43889

Did you have every juice imaginable to stop you buying the shortbread! Whats cashew based juice like? I used to be a personal shopper at harrods...way back when... Are you a londoner or visiting?

Cashews + Cinnamon + Dates + Sea Salt + Agave + Filtered H2O. (So, a little on the smoothie side...) Yum!

My husband just came back from doing a fitting in London - we're Aussies, based in LA + NY, working in Detroit....yes, the plot thickens. But we're also pondering moving to London as our base - exciting to think of, but I worry it'll be tough and based on nostalgia, rather than logic. (this is deviating from juicing topics, but, MD, if you were in our shoes, which borough/neighborhood would you suggest as most special?)

It depends on your priorities...let me know what they are & i will give you an insight. Also, nostalgia from which era....that info will help me give an informed response. Its nice to detour from the subject of juicing...its supposed to make our lives better not be our life...look fwd to hear from you

Just got off of work, wow. It's been a while since I hit the gym. Usually do 60 minutes of Elliptical - but today, only did 20 minutes on the Ellip and 35 minutes on the bike. Disappointed but it is of my own doing! Will go again Wednesday and see if the routine will be easier. This is day 21 of my original Reboot, and day 11 of the ten day. Had Carrot/Apple/Ginger this morning before the gym, and a beet and strawberries with greens combo for lunch. Trying to find another fav in keeping with the 80/20 formula of Joes...all ideas welcome! Hope y'all are doing well!

Beet strawb & green...have to try that! What quantities of each? Mb, you get up at the crack of dawn, work out for 60 mins, work all day, are on day 21 of a reboot..and you are disappointed! Listen, wonderwoman...you are an inspiration

Easy to make - 2 beets (beetroot), 5 carrots, 1 Cup Strawberries and 2 cups of kale...it's strong but really like the taste. Not as sweet as I thought it would be and it's really tasty if you like beets!

it looks gorgeous where you live...arent we lucky to live by water. I' d be lost without it. Here's my izzy for your howie. Like most whippets and greyhounds she is incredibly lazy. She's like usain bolt - does a 100m in a lightining flash, then, unlike usain bolt, sprawls on the sofa all day. She loves the sea but has only been there a few times...dogs and beaches is a tricky combo in the UK.

How close are you to the beach, mb?
