Hi everyone!! I just saw Joe's documentaries and was inspired to start juicing. I think I am going to do a 3 day cleanse, but may move onto 7 if I can keep the momentum. I am doing it to shed a few pounds but also to jump start a vegetarian lifestyle. I tried to just go vegetarian but found that I am not disciplined enough. So I thought juicing would help me.

Today is Day 1 and I have tons of questions. I made enough juice for today with a very inexpensive juicer by black and decker. I did not want to invest a lot of money if I am only going to do this once or twice. So my question is: Does it matter? Will I get enough nutrients? I can't tell you the recipe as in my excitement and desire to have it taste great, I just just threw in a bunch of things that I liked. I used kale, carrots, apples, cucumbers, ginger and pineapple for one juice. The other juice was a beet juice using beet greens and for some reason I threw berries, papaya, pineapple, cucumber, cilantro and turmeric. As I read through some of the articles and posts I am concerned about the sugar content. Will that defeat the purpose of juicing? Oh yeah and I have to tell on myself, I did have a half cup of coffee before I started, though I am planning on not doing that again tomorrow!

Any feedback would be appreciated!! Thank you....

Hi! I'm new to all this and still planning and preparing.. I'm from the north of Italy, been juicing before but never 'seriously' to change poor food habits. I found 'Fat, Sick and nearly Dead' on Netflix only like 2 weeks ago while I was abroad to do an instructor training for a class focused on feeling good in your own skin. That is exactly what I want to achieve plus getting rid of food allergies and all nastiness that comes with that, plus stop being fat and feeling humiliated and not at ease at social events. I want to see the 'me' of the pic I chose for my profile but feeling much better than I was at that time.

I've just bought a Sage Juicer, and I'm doing a slow transition because I'm very intossicated because of allergies and unhealthy life style. I'm beginning to quit processed food at the moment and preparing my body to receive juices without the very strong side effects I would have without detoxing a bit. Two days ago I began with an apple, lemon and sprouts juice, 1 cup only (I have an Angel slow juicer) I read I need to begin with very little vegetables, yesterday I was rather sick as if I had eaten too much, I think it is the liver beginning the detox, so yesterday I had just a very small juice and today I'm feeling better. Tomorrow I would like to try carrot juice and see how it goes. Don't know if this group is open and I can join in, but I really like to share experiences!

You can always join, we are glad to have you. Take a look at this video where Joe explains how Juicing works and how it is a benefit. Please ignore the irritating host that keeps interrupting him. The information is really good so it is worth the inconvenience. I know that you are trying to detox and it is really helpful not to be blindsided by the side affects that will hit you.

Hello all! I'm at the end of day 2. Oh. My. I'm drinking 3+ mean green juice a day and 1 cup of coffee. I'm starving! Please tell me this will go away! Or do I need to add to the program. What do you do when you're hungry?

Hi Tara! I think you should try diferent juices! Joe always say "rainbow your day" I start my day with orange or red juice, then for lunch i ate a gren one, afternoon snack a red one and another green one in dinner, it helps with hunger and also to not get bored! The 101 Juice app y excelent! Has all the recipies and ingredient for all the juices you want!

Tara - My wife purchased (Amazon.com) Joe's book 101 juice recipes and we tried most of them while on our 50 day juice only reboot. Variety is a key. If it were only the mean green drink I don't know that I would have lasted.

Remember that you need to have at least 64 oz of both juice and water for the day plus any extras is helpful. By extras I mean a glass of tea or my personal favorite, veggie broth in the evening. We would have 8oz as a treat/snack every night. You will need the salt intake if you plan to stay on this for any length of time. With all that fluid you will have a hard time being hungry, at least we found that to be the case. You will be going to the restroom frequently but that is a good thing since your body will need to get rid of the toxins and that is a major way the body eliminates those toxins.

Hello all. I've never tried juicing before. So the film gave me great inspiration. I'm on day 1 only 2 1/2 hours in ha ha. Have drunk warm lemon water and green tea, now about to have my first sporty spice juice. Didn't think i would miss my morning coffee like this, but the green tea was nice. I have 3 days straight at home, a course on day 4 then another 6 days straight at home. Really hoping I will detox in that time and be ready for the public after. So I can Juice and live life. Any advice is greatly appreciated, along with any helpful suggestions for dealing with detox symptoms. Does everyone have different ones or are they generally the same? :) -

What is the sporty spice juice? What are some of the detox symptoms you are experiencing?

That sums it up, haven't started yet and worried. I'm thinking, how does a single mom with with a special needs daughter find 3 days to commit to the beginning detox, and how do I afford it, how do I get my juice while I'm at work? If you pre make them they lose a lot of nutrients right? Plus the cost, how much should I save to start out if I wanted to do a 15 day reboot. If I could get rid of all these worries I'd love to start a reboot.

Day 5 for me and I feel good. I plan to ride my bike today. We have a couple of great juice carts/bars here so I will stop at one during the ride. This juice fast is going much easier than I expected. I have been trying to eat vegan for awhile though. Maybe that is why I haven't had many toxin release issues. I am surprised that I haven't been tempted by food yet or felt hungry. I'm sipping on my hot lemon water now. It's very comforting to have that in the AM.

For those of you with more experience than I have, please share with me what you feel the minimum time to juice and get the best effects. It seems like 3 is too little. I'm about to start day 1 of a 10 day juice only cleanse.

Hi Iisah, I pulled the following answer from another tab on the website. I hope this answers your question. You also want to drink lots of water and start the day with a cup of hot lemon water. You can also have herb tea.

"The amount you will drink varies, based on your individual needs, but aim for 4 to 6 juices a day of 16 to 20 oz (500 to 600 ml) each."

Day 4 for me. Woke up feeling full of energy. I went to the gym and lifted weights. My stamina was normal - maybe even a little better. I am down six pounds! Have a great juicing day.

You can and will do it Jojo. It sounds like you know how to make it work for you. What do you plan to do after the 10 days?

I think after the 10 days I will stick to a reboot but maybe incorporate more salads and soups - I still will need to lose more kgs I'm tipping x
