We are DONE with day 3! Dang, feels good, man! I started off the day (day 3) feeling GREAT and not understanding why so many people think this is so hard...... Then 2 pm came and I felt like I had the flu! It started off with a nasty headache that turned into a full body ache. I full asleep by 8 pm. I'm wide awake at 2:30 am and I have a feeling I'll be needing a nap today. Dreamer, WELCOME!!! Glad to have you with us. This group of people is great! I hope you find it as helpful as I do. Pam, great job on the weight loss!!! And how did the poetry festival go? I hope you had a lot of fun! And I also have the same problem with not being able to see all the replies when I follow the link provided in my email notifications so (God, I hope I can adequately explain this at 2:30 am) I've found that it works best to just come to the community page, click on "group reboots", find this thread, and then it shows how many pages this topic is (currently we are on page 4, I think?). I click on the last page and that way I can read more recent replies. I wish this forum were easier to navigate. Liesl, yes, it does make sense. He (our pastor) spoke with a couple people from our church and we have a member of the church who, I was told, works with kids that have these social issues like my son does and that she would work with us for free until we can get him in to see a child psychologist. I know this has nothing to do with juicing but the stress of course affects how well I do (I'm a HUGE emotional eater) so I can not express to you how nice it is to be able to talk about it and get some understanding and support. Thank you both.

Yay!!! Made it to day 4, but just barely. I have been lucky not to feel weak, sick or have headaches. However we headed out for a road trip yesterday which is apparently one of my triggers. I endured an hour in a fast food joint while my family ate. I brought juice a long but it did not agree with me. I couldn't finish it. Luckily the gas station next door had some coconut water. It got me by but finishing up the drive was torture. I physically felt fine, but mentally I could not get food out of my head. I felt like a drug addict, it was quite sad. I made it through and rolled right into bed once we arrived. Felt a little weak getting up this morning but pushed through with some better juices. I can't do straight vegetable juice apparently. Now that I have finished up the 3 day reboot I will stick to recipes I know I like. I will experiment on the weekends. I intend on cheating today for dinner. I am at the in-laws and they want to take us out. At least this way I am controlling the eating and not letting it control me. Also I think I will allow for raw fruits and veggies on Sundays. I learned from Catholic Radio that technically Sundays are NOT part of lent and anything we give up we can have a little of on those days. I had never heard that before. I would love to make it thorough on straight juice, but if I go to crazy I will end up with an "all or none" mentality and saying forget it at some point. This way I will continue to do good for my body for longer, instead of trying to stay tough and giving up the whole thing. So proud of everyone and sorry for those physically suffering on this. My suffering has been mental and allowed me to focus on my food addiction and praying. Just keep going like the "beer and crackers". We don't have to be perfect just keep the health goal in mind.

Hi all - I plan on starting day 1 tomorrow of a seven day Reboot, may I join this group? This was part of my plan for Lent - just did not want to do the 40 days... Everyone here a big inspiration!

Hey everyone! I wanted to check in and let you all know that I'm still hanging in there. I started Day 4 and my word, today has been the worst yet! I woke with pressure in my ear that only got increasingly painful as the morning worse on. I ended up going to Urgent Care and the doctor said, "Whoa! That is one ugly, pissed off infection! Your ear drum is about to burst." Lovely. So I'm on antibiotics and numbing drops for my ear. I've had many emotional breakdowns today (my poor, abused husband) and that nasty addiction to food keeps telling me that I'll feel better if I just cave and get crap food. Ugh. But I keep telling myself, "You are sick. You are addicted to food. It's ignorant to think that fast food is a going to make your EAR INFECTION better. It hurts to SWALLOW, so you won't enjoy that food." It's just so hard guys! But I'm going to do it. I have this group to thank for that. I also want to prove my friends wrong who think I'm crazy and that what I am doing is unhealthy. I'm damned determined. Welcome, NMW. We're glad to have you. Best of luck on the next 7 days!! This group is great because the people in it are awesome! Des, that sounds like a good recipe. I'll have to try it. Thanks so much for sharing.

Oh yuk Teela - I am so sorry but what a blessing that you went into urgent care when you did. I've heard a burst eardrum really hurts. I had a small slip at dinner today - the urge to chew won over. BUT It was all raw and all veggies. Bring on day 5! If any of you want to read more I have a blog like Teela. http://40daylentenreboot.blogspot.com

Teela, what a bummer! Ear infections are crappy--hope the antibiotics kick in ASAP!! Well, my day was weird. I made more juice to begin with because I had to go a funeral. A good friend at work (guy)'s husband died, and after the funeral my friend announced that he had bought veggie burgers to grill for ME. At the after-funeral gathering, he even brought out the Morningstar box proudly to show me. I could not bring myself to turn that veggie burger down. But I have to say--it was AMAZING. One good thing, when we finish this fast, food is going to be quite pleasurable! We are all dealing with challenges of many kinds--as long as we do our best, what more can we do?! Welcome to the group NMW. Des--I put mango in a drink today and had to deal with the "pit"--I find the one thing I dislike most is having to do a lot of cutting. Do you have the Breville? I assume you had to take the pit out of the plum. Keep on keeping on fellow Juicers! We need a name for our group. Juiceaholics? Blender Benders?

How awesome Pam that your friends are supporting you! I know it isn't the plan you're on but I think it's really nice and I;m glad you enjoyed it. It will probably go down as one of the most enjoyable burgers you have had or ever will have. Yes- we will all keep juicing! Bring on day 5 and may we all handle the challenges that may come up with ease!

Day 5. I feel better today, thank goodness. Pam, I think I probably would have done the same as you. I honestly don't think, in that situation, I would have been able to turn down the burger, and not because of willpower, but because of the situation. And I agree, it's very sweet that he bought those burgers for you, supporting what you are trying to do. What a great man! I will be praying for him to find some peace as he mourns the loss of his husband. NMW, so today's the big day, huh? Day 1. You can totally do this! We are here for you! -Teela http://my40dayjuicefast.blogspot.com/

Oh my gosh you juicing people-- Teela's suggestion about LIMES has changed everything !! THEY ARE GOOD WITH ANY JUICE YOU MAKE!! Yesterday, I threw away Juice #3 because it was just sort of "yuck." Today I made 2 juices for the day, and with the addition of lime they are FANTASTIC!!! The first one was 2 granny smith apples, about a dozen strawberries, four or five big handfuls of spinach, and 1/4 lime. I just finished it and wish I had more! NO KIDDING!! The one for later consists of 2 tomatoes, 3 small carrots, 1 peeled cucumber, about 1/2 inch of ginger, 1 red pepper, several handfuls of spinach and 1/4 lime. I have a lot of extra veggies as I have been going crazy with picking them up, and for tonight I made a juice with beets, carrots, spinach and lime which was really pretty (red) and I froze it to eat it as a sort of "slushy" later. Do the rest of you get your juicer out evey time you want to juice? I hate washing dishes, so I've been getting up and doing all the juicing for the day in the morning, then putting it into containers that hold a lot that you can drink right out of. But then the juice I save separates and looks a little "eeew" when I drink it later. Shaking it is good but does not erase the "eeeew" factor. Maybe I'm overthinking this. Have a great day everybody!!! (I still think we need to name our group.) Pam
