Starting February 13th. Who's with me?

Group Reboots

Posted by TeelaHerman.com on 6 years ago I will be starting a 40 day juicing fast to go along with lent. Is anyone else out there planning the same thing? This will be my first fast so I am going to need lots of support.

Anyone out there from the group? Well I finished day one and I feel like absolute CRAP! How was your first day? To be honest I am not sure I'll make it . I gotta go to bed - really nasty headache.

Hi there! I actually started yesterday! I'm juicing once per day, either morning or lunch, and cooking a veggie based meal for dinner, including quinoa. Also a few very healthy snacks. Hoping to lose 20 lbs this way. If it doesn't seem to work after a week I will fast on juices for a few days. But the first day was surprisingly easy, and the food and juices were great!

lasschick don't get discouraged! This is my third cleanse and let me tell you it took me a few attempts to finally go through with it. This time around my goal is to not attempt, and just do it! I know we can do it. Its so tough but it is sooo worth it!

I would live to join! I started my fast on the 13th, but only at dinner time. I have a new post up in the reboot newbies section if your questioning why. As much as I would love to do a 40 day fast I'm not sure my body would be able to handle it. I'm not anywhere near overweight as is, and I'm not doing this for much weight-loss, so I'll start with 10 days and see where I get. My goal is detox. I do have a food addiction. I eat out, fast food and Starbucks, everyday. The only reason I am thin is because I have food allergies and can have only grilled chicken from any fast food menu. No bun, no cheese. I'm into fasting for spiritual reasons and figure I may as well juice during my fast. Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining everyone in this adventure. I can't really say I'm looking forward to the next few days however. Lord, give me strength.

Sorry I didn't get back on last night. We didn't get home from church until after 7 and then I (yes me, not my kids) had to stay up finishing their valentines cards. Yesterday was surprising to me. I can't tell you how many times I almost grabbed some food, without thinking, without being hungry, purely out of boredom, and popped it into my mouth. It's crazy! And I even thought yesterday, "it's just me and my 18 month old. No one will know if I eat a cheese ball." Whew! I didn't give it! So I am celebrating that small victory! I am about to go do my weigh in! I'll be back to post in a few minutes.

Okay. Day two and I am down 1.8 lbs. Not too shabby! Yesterday was okay for me. Today is rough because I am (not so) patiently waiting for the paycheck to hit our account so I can go get some fresh fruits and veggies. I will use this time to get some much needed water in me and I think that is going to be my main focus today. I know I did not get enough water yesterday. Today is also rough because I have so much going on and usually that would mean, grab some fast food and go on about your day. Not anymore! My twins are having pizza parties at school and I volunteered to BRING THE PIZZA!!!!! Yeah. Not so smart. But I will make myself a nice big glass of juice and take it with me so I won't be as tempted. How is everyone else? I know it stinks not being able to go out and have dinner, wine and chocolates but just think of how amazing we will all look and feel NEXT Valentine's Day!!!!! I'm going to make today more about spending TIME with the ones I love vs. spending time eating unhealthy foods. Best of luck, everyone!!! Happy juicing!! Be blessed.

Day 2: I almost feel bad posting today because of how great this is going for me so far. This is my first juice fast but I have had to lose weight for my job and in the last 2 years I have lost and gained the same 30 lbs three times. I am no longer in that job so I am finally doing this for me and my health. I think mentally it has been a huge difference for me to not have my job dependent on my weight. The juice I made yesterday was more than I could drink so I only had to make 2 juices today to supplement. I made the Purple Power juice (so yummy) and the Green Lemonade. I do have one request for the group....please don't discuss food other than juices on here. Like I said I have actually been doing great, I even made my favorite breakfast for husband and kids without temptation. That being said however I know how hard just reading about food can be when you are limiting what you have. So I would suggest we don't talk about specific food items, just to insure we don't trigger something for someone. Just an idea. Is anyone working out while doing this?
