Rebooting good for Candida?

Ask the Nutritionist

Posted by huskereurocat on 2 years ago

I am on day 32 of my 60 day reboot and am still having really bad candida reactions. It has been waking me up with incessant itching the last few nights as well. I was under the impression that this reboot would aid in the elimination of the issue, but now I am not convinced. I am currently on Zyrtec beause the doctors, namely the dermatoligist, thinks I just have allergies. I have been dealing with this for years and thought I stumbled on the right answer. Am I on the right track with the reboot or should I be considering something else or more?

    Dear huskereuroca,

You are on the right track but you must be careful of some of the sweeter juices and its important to consider taking herbs that help to kill off any unhealthy gut bugs such as golden seal, garlic, turmeric, ginger, pau'darco, wormwood etc...there are some great herbal blends available in health stores.

    Taking a product called:

Saccharomyces cerevisiae (boulardii) absolutely helps to avoid the irritations that can occur during die off. Taking another broad spectrum probiotic can also help.

Does the probiotic need to be refrigerated? That doesn't happen for the mail orders. I currently take one from Garden of Life called Raw Probiotics. It has 85 billion live cultures and 31 probiotic strains. Is that a good one or is there another one that I should be considering? By the way, my restless leg syndrome has kicked up the last couple of nights and I have heard that candida can be one of the causes. Is that true?

Increase your juices and add in an extra coconut water along with vegetable broth to replenish the electrolytes to reduce the restless leg syndrome.

    What your taking sounds good!

Most probiotics can stay out of the fridge for up to 2weeks and longer if the climate is cold. They account for this in travel time from factories to distributors and shops etc...

Thanks a bunch Claire. I appreciate your help sooooooo much. I have been dealing with this candida for years and am just tired of it. Ordered products that you talked about above yesterday. Can hardly wait to see what works!!
