I need weight loss support!

Group Reboots

Posted by 30-Day-Challenge on 2 years ago

I am honestly not sure what to expect with my reboot. In a perfect world, I would do it for 60 days. I am shooting for 30. I just need someone to help me when I have weak moments. Joe Cross is such a motivation, I hope I can rock at juicing like he did! Wow! His documentary was just incredible.

P.S. This picture of me is my goal weight. I will be posting before (and hopefully after) pictures another time. I am about 40-50 pounds heavier.

Hey there, my name is Vona :) I'm happy to be here to motivate you :) My hubby and I will be doing a 6 day reboot starting this coming Friday, and then around tax time we're hoping to do a 30 or 60 day depending on how this 6 day goes.

Awesome! Thank you! Have you ever done a 30-60 day fast?

Hi there! I am on day 2 of what I hope will be a 60 day reboot when it's all said and done. I am just focusing on 15 days at a time for now. I have done 15 days in the past and feel like I am really ready to make the big effort and go for real change! I know I have some major weight to lose, and after the 15 days I have done in the past I always slip back into old habits, so I hope going longer will help me to make more permanent changes. I would love to be here both to give and get support as well!

Miss Tee, I am on day two also! Let's motivate each other to continue this for as long as we can (gosh darn-30 days would be just awesome and 60 would be life transforming) I always do the same thing. l go healthy and than binge. This madness has got to stop. I am looking also to continue after the juicing with a very healthy lifestyle. Something I can commit to. I have to tell you about a lifestyle I once had that eliminated all cravings. It was with the NutriBullet. It comes with a recipe book and is mostly vegan with vinegar, lemon, garlic and oil as condiments/dressings. They are so delicious. Expensive, but very tasty. I never read into any other diet because this satisfied me. Good soup too!

Hi 30 DAY! Day 3 here for me, and all is going well! I think it gets easier each time you do it, because I really don't have any of the first 3 day nasties this go round. That could be because I quit smoking in the past year too. My biggest problem is that I always go back to the carbs - they are my downfall. I am really trying to make the commitment this time to stay away from them as much as I possibly can once I am through the juicing. And thanks for the tip, I have a friend who has a NutriBullet, I'll have to ask her if I can see the recipe book she has once I am through the fast. Speaking of soup, I made a batch of veggie broth last night after finishing up making my juices, it turned out really well! So now I have that available should I need something warm to go to.

Hiya 30 Day and MissTee, I think it's awesome y'all are trying a 30 day or possibly a 60 day juice, hubby and I will be making our first juices tomorrow night to get ready to start a 6 day juice fast and then if that goes well we'll be doing a 30 or 60 day juicing fast after. So excited! I have 2 fridges full of produce and my body is craving all this fruit and veggies I have here, when I eat something my body like says awwww not what I wanted LOL. Congrats on quitting smoking MissTee :) One of the best decisions you could have made, we made that choice back in 2014 when we decided to do foster care and take in a newborn to adopt and raise :)

    Hey Ladies,

Yes, congrats MissTee on quitting smoking! I quit over three years ago too!

Not as bad this time for me either because I didn't cut out the caffeine. I did cut out ALL coffee though. But not the green tea.

I wish you luck in your fasting, Vona! We can all do this together. I honestly feel so much more support by having this blog to go to everyday.

    Happy Juicing!

Vona, today is the big day, right? Have you started? I am currently in my day 6, cruising along. Going into the weekend will be the toughest time for me as it's normal that my boyfriend and I go to dinner. He is aware it won't be happening, and he is supporting me, I just know my brain is going to mess with me. Good luck on your first day and let us know how it goes!

How do you make the veggie broth? Is it organic?

There is a recipe on here to use the pulp from juicing veggies to make the broth. I used a different one, but they are basically the same. You need 3-4 cups of veggie pulp (use a different bag for your fruit pulp in the juicer as you don't want that in there). Heat up a pan, add a couple small onions chopped coarsely and some garlic chopped(I like garlic so I use a lot, but probably a clove or two would do). Saute that for a few minutes in water until it's warmed up (I wait for the onion to just start to get translucent). Then add the veggie pulp and whatever seasonings you enjoy, its all to taste. I personally put in black pepper, rosemary, a couple of bay leaves, and some oregano. Then fill the pot with water up to a few inches from the top. Let it boil, then cover it and simmer for a few hours. Strain it, and there you go, veggie broth that works just fine for the fast! I like to have it around in case I want something warm instead of a cold juice. I also use it when I feel the need to "eat" something, I put it in a bowl and use a spoon, so it gives the eating sensation.

Thanks MissTee for the recipe. I just started the 30-day 2 days ago. This is my first reboot and so far I'm enjoying the recipes, but having something like warm broth would be really comforting.

Happy juicing everyone! We can do this!

And thanks for the congrats for quitting smoking. I am really happy I was finally able to quit. I cut caffeine out a few years ago, and then smoking last year, now it's time to get the diet in line and I will be ready to take over the world! :-)
