I've done two juice fasts in the past, one for 28 days, one for 27 days. This time I'm working very hard to make sure I have a plan for AFTER the fast, to include better nutrition habits, and exercise. Every day I'm looking for a video to watch or a book to read to help me with better menu planning, leaning heavily toward a plant based diet. I've also started exercising daily, using DailyBurn.com at home.
I'm on day 31 of an I-don't-know-how-long juice fast/feast. So far my arthritis has gone, back pain and hot flashes are gone, and I have more energy than I've had in a very long time. I'm not looking to lose a tone of weight as much as I'm looking for permanent changes in my lifestyle. These forums here have been a GREAT source of inspiration and support!
My Garmin Vivofit 2 finally came in the mail yesterday. The Garmin Connect account links to a free MyFitnessPal account, where I can log in activities and a food diary. What do you know? The food inventory includes many of the Reboot with Joe recipes! Fortunately most of my juicing recipes have come from here, so I'm excited to track my juice intake!
Usually I drink 6 or so bottles a day, but have only logged in two so far. Below is a copy and paste from my log today. WOW! 14 grams of protein in the juices? I hope this log is accurate, because it helps to see that I AM getting some great quality nutrition and calories, while getting more fit, too! HOOAH! :)
