I joined a while back, and have just been lurking reading now and then to gain wisdom and encouragement. I am currently on day 30 of juice fasting. I'm taking it one day at a time with the goal of 90 days. If I don't get there I'm OK with that but to even have gotten this far is amazing to me. I've been using the app on my phone and I am looking for support to get through the next 60 days. So far I have lost 33 pounds. I still have a long ways to go needing to lose a total of 165 pounds. I've sent a few friends request out to people. And I'm kind of looking for people who are using the app too.

My goals are to lose weight, break my sugar/carb addiction and to break this negative eating cycle in my life.

Great job! My goal is to get to 30 days - maybe more like you too - I'm on my third day so far. I've lost 5 pounds, surprisingly so fast :) You will make it, you've gotten this far, and I'm SURE you will get tons of support from on here - it's such a wonderful place with very nice people! Stay positive and now that you mention it, I think I will install the app after I free up some space!

I like the app. I bought the juice recipes that can go with it, although I rarely use the recipes I juice whatever seems good when I'm digging in the fridge. I like the reminders to drink water etc.

    Thanks for the welcome!

Hello glad to hear your committing to the 90 day juice fast,my wife and I are also committing to same fast. It is are third day for us both and were about to have a late juicing dinner. A friend of mine who started the same fast last year was a big motivation and encouragement for us doing this fast of course the movie was motivational to for him and us both also. he recommends and I would recommend only because I seen first hand the change and benefits of his juicing. So we started and will continue with this recipe and maybe tweak it a bit like for dinner. 6lbs of carrots 10 apples 3lbs of beets 7 cucumbers 10 tomatoes 6 grapefruits that's for the week for one person not including the weekend so you can add more for the weekend and he recommends in between breakfast and lunch to drink 8 oz protein shake and in between lunch and dinner another 8 oz. My wife and I have opted to use an organic hemp protein shake vanilla flavored that's actually not that bad. He also suggest for the best results to stick to those veggies and fruit mix. I can say we cheated tonight and added garlic and a spicy pepper for some flavor on our dinner juice.. I didn't tell him..hehe but he says to stay on that mix. I also know that it might be a little more pricey but organic veggies are the way to go. Well hope this helped we are in this boat together and hopefully we can encourage on another to stay on that straight and narrow. Best wishes!!

I am usually a huge meat eater and when I started this fast I was concerned about my protein intake and having blood sugar drops. I did have some low blood sugar symptoms and so I begin blending half an avocado into my juice once a day and that seem to take care of my blood sugar issues. It makes sense because of the high fiber content of an avocado and fibers what keeps blood sugar from dropping off quickly. I'm doing this fast on a budget so I can't really afford at this time a plant-based protein powder or extra protein drinks. Basically I am listening to my body and giving it what it needs as I have it on hand. So far I have been satisfied.

Today is day 31 and I weighed in this morning to see how much weight I had lost in 30 days. The grand total comes to 36.5 pounds. I'm happy with these results and it's just the boost I need to encourage me for the next 30 days to come.

Well done folkydots:) I can't wait to get to 30days. I'm a vegetarian so I probably need to find some sort of plant based protein or I may just use an avocado like you have. Increasing how much water I drink has helped stop the tiredness and I feel pretty good today

Hi, just as a caution - don't rely on an avocado to give you needed protein. Generally speaking, half an avocado contains 2.5 g of protein - which isn't much. 3 ounces of avocado contains 15 grams of fat and 160 calories. 80% of the calories in an avocado come from fat and that's the main reason why most weight loss doctors and specialists (even those who advocate a plant-based way of life) recommend no more than 1 ounce a day. Having it often will slow down your weight loss.

That aside, let me say that you are doing a fantastic job, folkydots. You must be feeling so great. Keep up the good work.
