Frozen vs. fresh pineapple?

Ask the Nutritionist

Posted by Georgianna on 5 years ago Organic pineapples are really, really expensive! I know canned pineapple is essentially dead. How about the frozen organic chunks? Do they still have comparable enzymes and nutrients vs. fresh?

Dear Georgianna, Conventional pineapple is thick skinned so it tends be OK and lower in pesticude residue. Using organic frozen is also OK. Here is more on Frozen vs Fresh - http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/fruits-veggies-frozen-vs-fresh/
