Day 4, Where's the suffering?

Reboot Newbies

Posted by SarahBeth on 1 year ago

I'm new to juicing and am just finishing off day 4.
I get about 6-7hrs sleep a night, spend 3 hours in the car to and from work and about 9.5 hours in the workshop doing physical labor.

I'm actually feeling completely normal so far. I'm not as eager to take my breaks at work (to eat) but I'm satisfied. I can count 3 individual times in the past 4 days where I've felt hunger.
I've not experienced any of the terrible symptoms that many others have said they experienced whatsoever besides a little lethargy (but if I'm being honest, I was feeling lethargic on any day that I wasn't helping myself out with an energy drink).

I'm sleeping well, alert, comfortable in my bodily functions... I almost feel like I'm not doing it right haha

Should I be waiting for the hammer to drop, or am I just one of the lucky few?

Has anyone else cruised through their fast?

Yes, I am 7 days in and my body is so happy. I went to a group thing yesterday with lots of nice food. It looked and smelled really good, but I had no desire to eat it. My body feels more congruent than most of its life. My scale broke, so i'm not sure of the weight loss, but my body is feeling prouder. A friend noticed the change and asked me what I was doing Pardon the sideways photo, can't seem to fix it, but it describes how sideways I felt before I started.

Thanks for your posts. I'm on day 1. I had 2 cups of coffee this morning with hazelnut creamer. I'll wean off, going to have one cup tomorrow or none. Not sure yet. For 16 days I've tried juicing breakfast and lunch. I gave into dinner times. But I've joined this site in hopes it will strengthen my commitment to not give into temptation .Thank you

ur juicing & using dairy/w sugar? eating what? it's not cheating if u eat plants!! no dairy!! coffee is okay but creamer isn't!! then again, a true reboot/cleanse would be no coffee!!

    Juice ON!!

For me, I went all in 100%. I have followed everything to the letter and I find that having it so regimented has taken any thinking out of it completely. I don't think "will I have that...?" at all. It doesn't occur to me because the answer is No. I'm sure every little bit helps. Every juice is a step in the right direction but try not to allow yourself to give weak excuses as valid reasons. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me fcyclist, i tried a couple of times with breakfast and lunch. I tried again after many months and finally did my first day.. you can do it too. The first day you miss the food nd the habit of eating it, now my family is eating all around me and i couldnt care..hopefully this lasts for a longer time.

Steph that's exactly how I feel! I'm just glad to see that somebody else skipped the worst of it.
I'm on day 6 now which is completely 100% juice. I thought I would perhaps find my struggle today but alas, nope.
I even sat in a meeting for 2 hours with plate apon plate of muffins, cookies, cakes, scones and fruit platters. I looked at then for maybe 10 seconds then picked up my coconut water (ew) and sipped down my 500ml.

I want to feel proud but it really didn't require any noteworthy effort to begin with. So instead I'll just be thankful!

HI SarahBeth, I'm on my second reboot, and the only detox symptoms I ever experience are a headache and some tiredness on the first and second day (both probably related to caffeine withdrawl). I eat pretty clean most of the time, but still have weight to lose. I'm presently on day 19 of a 30 day juice only feast and like you don't care for food. It makes it easier if you stay 100% and don't veer off. Best of luck to you in your journey.

I’m only a few hours in and feeling very optimistic. I have troed juicing before and only due to lack off willpower given in. This time I feel different and ready for the challenge. I’m going to do a 31 day fast. I’ll keep you posted. ????

Shani you are brave. i would truly recommend doing 3 day , then 5 day, then 7day then 10 days reboots first. it normally takes a couple of months to get to a 30 days fast.

    good luck keep up posted

Day 13 now and going strong.

I finished my breakfast of a Carrot -apple- ginger juice and suffered some pretty instant nausea for the first time since it all began. It seems to have passed after 10 or 15 minutes thankfully and my confidence is restored.

I started off 13 days ago a little over 68kg. I still feel completely normal except that I'm not so tired on the drive home from work these days and I now weigh around 63.5-64kg.

Im expecting to put a good 4kg back on when I join 'the eating class' again but I believe my body will know how to deal with that better age its little holiday!

Good luck everyone just starting out or in the early days. Its worth it!

Day 2 for me and i found Day 1 to be only challenging from the perspective of missing food more than being hungry. I am a bit worried of Day 3 headaches , but lets see where it goes. Good luck to all..

Take a headache remedy. I debated, finally did and don't regret it. I've seen the nutritionist here (or reboot coaches?) recommend the same. Something like a headache or backache or whatever, if it's annoying enough, can persuade me to break my reboot. Not worth it those first few days. It'll pass!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to hear your juice cleanse goes so well for you! I am on day 2 of my juice cleanse and I haven't had any detox symptoms so far. I actually have more energy since I started my fast, I feel awesome, I workout daily, I am in a good mood and a happy juice faster so far. Today I woke up after only 4 hours of sleep which was very surprising to me since I usually need my 8 hours sleep but when I woke up this morning I was full of energy and since I woke before sunrise, I decided to do a cardio session and enjoyed my morning juice afterwards. I haven't felt any hunger, just cravings like 1-2 times a day, but after drinking a juice, they totally disappeared. I aim for a 35 day cleanse. This is a very exciting journey for me and I am wholeheartedly focused on my goal only.. a healthy, happy life as the best version of myself. No excuses anymore. I wanna be proud of what I do. Good luck with your juicefast journey, everyone! We can achieve everything we put our heart into. We are the ones who decide what we do and how we live. No one else.

    Hi SarahBeth,

i am so happy you are doing well. if you are drinking a lot of water you will have no problems (maybe just going to the bathroom a lot more often) otherwise keep it up. how much weight have you lost?
