Day 15 - Protein?

Reboot Newbies

Posted by Bob on 5 years ago

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow starts the beginning of my 3rd week of the juice fast. I have been drinking 98% of the mean green recipe and feel great.

Should I be concerned about lack of Protein?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello. Please refer to Joe Cross journal http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/joes-journal-day-27-the-p-word/ He extensively covers that topic. All the best and juice on.

Kale and spinach contain all of the amino acids we need to make protein - other fruit/veg have some as well. Yes, we biological organisms MAKE protein from it's building blocks :-) We don't actually use as protein that which we eat whole (at least not until we break it down and then re-build it), but it certainly does tend to come with saturated fat that clogs our blood vessels among many other negative effects!

My concern would be the fact that you are sooooooo limiting your nutrients! "Drink the Rainbow" is a mantra of Joe's and you are certainly not doing that. There are many different vitamins and minerals in fruit/veg that are orange, red, purple.... and you are not drinking any of those. I do 2 Mean Green + 2 others each day, in order to add some balance. Even if you start by adding 1 juice of another colour each day, it's s start :-)

    Dear JuicyKrys,

Thank you so much for that fine advice and taking the time to reply. I will certainly begin by drinking the rainbow.
