Free for All

Posted by TeelaHerman.com on 6 years ago I'm so mad and angry. I need help before I give up. I did great the first few days of the fast, lost about 9 lbs and then that's it. I've not seen any weight loss since Day 6 or so, in fact, since starting my period, I've GAINED weight. Someone help!!!! I know I shouldn't be so obsessed with the number on the scale but OMG WHY AM I GAINING WEIGHT!?!?!?!?!? My husband had the audacity to say it was because I'm drinking too much juice!!!!! Great, so I was a fat blimp stuffing my face....and now I'm a fat blimp drinking fresh and expensive juice!?!?!?! Argh. I want to give up, run away and never come back. I need some support, motivation, advice, help, SOMETHING!

Thank you SO MUCH, everyone. I stayed strong. I fought the urges. I cooked dinner for the kids and I didn't even take a bite. I am staying away from the scales for at least another few days and I am going to try my very best to stop comparing myself to others. Like Gozer said, if I am going to compare myself to anyone, I'm going to compare myself to all the others who have quit. I really need to stop being so damn hard on myself. As again, I sincerely appreciate everyone's encouraging words. You guys helped get me through.

Teela - I've learned to stay away from the scales for looooong, they are total rubbish in telling you where you really stand. If you have to measure, measure your waist - there is something that really tells you how your health is in terms of numbers. BUT: most importantly listen to your body, as already suggested. Don't you feel GREAT? Never stuffed anymore, even more energetic? When I juice only I feel LIGHT, no matter what the scale says. When I eat wrong stuff, I feel stuffed and HEAVY, not matter my weight :( And comparing: please, please, take this special time in your life to try and focus on YOURSELF ONLY, because the only one you can ever compare yourself with is yourself yesterday or a week/month/year ago. NO ONE in this world is exactly like you - with your physical and emotional set up, with your life, your challenges ... I believe more and more that we are so unhealthy because we are not listening to our bodies anymore, we look at others where we should look at ourselves only - and are soooo deceived by everything that comes from the outside. Yet: our body tells us soooo much :) I believe your body is VERY happy these days ;) Listen and ENJOY the great ride :) Let's juice on :)

Good girl, carry on, I must admitt yesterday (day four) I ended up going off the rails eating nuts, raisins and steamed brocoli and beans, helped fill me up and feel full, and I felt better after my "pig out". Then I looked at some videos by Joe, and eating steamed vegies and beans is all still good, still detoxing, so I won't kick myself. Well done veryone on this forum.

Way to go Teela! Be proud of what you have accomplished so far, and by no means, would you have been a failure had you stopped juicing so get that our of your head. Everyone I know that could stand to lose some weight and follow a more healthy diet, makes crazy faces at me when they find out what my husband and I are doing. They all make the same declaration, too..."I could never do that." So compare yourself to those that quit after a day or two and to those that refuse to even try. You ROCK for sticking with it. Keep on Juicing!!

Hi. right Teela. just the fact that you will do something like this shows you want to be proactive in being healthy. And this is what its about ..getting healthy. .we all know how hard that is when there are bad habits and patterns to change. but your doing. too many people aren't willing to try anything, they just take the meds and more meds. They don't really get better but instead continue to get worse. Don't give in. your making great progress :) don't focus on the weight but rather the great changes. Keep going!!! :) Dawn

Don't give up! It's just from your period and will pass.

-I tend to make juices that are vegetable based only and I add lemon or ginger for flavor ????
