Day 11 - Again This time I did It :-)

Free for All

Posted by yukon_wn on 6 years ago Hello, Day 11 is completed. I did It. Last time, I crashed and burned on day 11 and everything after that went down hill. Today, was good. I lost 1/2 lb and I am feeling great. I woke up today, wide awake. Before, any chance to get extra sleep, I took it. Later in the day, I had to cook for a friend's party. I made Dim Sum. That wasn't too bad making it and cooking it. Now, at the party was tougher. Friends kept offering me drinks and there was a ton of great Asian food. Probably, the hardest thing today was having to tell my son that I would not be eating the pop-corn that he bought for me. Why dad, he said. But, I bought it for you. That was hard because he doesn't understand what dad is trying to do. Thanks for listening. I am looking forward to Day 12 - First time. Take care and have fun juicing.......

You are doing great buddy. I am sure your son will be happy about your fasting once you get the energy to play around with him a little more, quality time beats popcorn any day of the week...LOL Congratulations on setting your new milestone!!!

Brian, how many days are you planning on fasting? My hard and fast goal is ten days (I'm nearing the end of day two)...but somewhere in me I would love to find the gumption to go 60 days, like Joe did. Eek! Congratulations to your on getting I through day 11! I'm sure your friends will be more supportive over time. Out of curiosity--did you tell them what you're doing?

Hello SB and Pam. You are right. I am able to play with my kids a lot more than I was just 2 weeks, ago. My kids and I even go on walks, now. I want to give them that and I hope that can take walking forward into their lives. Friday, was the first time that I told a few of my friends what I was doing. They were very supportive. One of my friends even gave me a lot of advice about juicing. I never knew that he did it before. He is even going to help me exercise. He was a personal trainer, before. OK - here goes. This is the first time that I am telling anyone. My goal is 60 days. Now, I have just really committed to it. I know that I can do it. Thanks and take care. Keep juicing and the benefits will be greater than we can imagine.

Brian--Good for you! I am trying to tell myself to not let the idea of 60 days overwhelm me. Just do it for today, every day, and pretty soon the 60 days will be up. Also--I keep thinking about how I can potentially accomplish a year's worth of dieting and focusing on my health in just two months. I gave up dieting a couple of years ago (it makes me totally crazy), so I want this to be about something different: my health, doing things with my family, thinking straight, Etc. I am also hoping, big time, that this juice fast makes me want to eat more fruits and veggies, because I have the intention of going at least vegetarian, but hopefully at least mosty vegan. Here's what is encouraging: yes, I am totally hungry, but I haven't craved sweets at all...even after only two days, the things I want are healthy food. Like an avocado or tomato sauce. Anyway--keep it up and let your friends support you!

That is great bud. It is the walks with dad that they will remember. 60 DAYS??? Yep, you said it, and now we are going to hold you to it!!!!LOL. Buddy you got this, you are almost 25% of the way there. I have been planning this for many months, and told about 15 friends and co workers well before I started. I told them about Fat, SIck, and Nearly Dead, and several other movies on topic, that are currently on netflix. A few have bought or ordered their juicer, others are wating to see how I do. It made me feel accountable which I know will help. Please let us know the different stages of your journey, so we will know what to expect. I am only on day 3, so I could use any advice about what is coming. Coninued success!!

Hello Pam, Thanks. I absolutely marvel at the idea that in a very short time, I will have undone nearly 6 months of a huge back-slide. In late July, I had lost 42 lbs. Before, I even juiced for the first time in July, I had lost 35 lbs. I was just starting to realize the benefits of juicing when I gave myself the excuse to take a day off. It was my son't birthday and I wanted to enjoy it to the max. Ribs, shrimp, chicken, beer, etc. The next day, I was to get right back to juicing and keep loosing weight. Well, it took nearly 6 months for that next day to come. I am glad, it finally did come. If you have not already - watch the movie, "Forks over Knives" - It gives you all the reason to be vegetarian full time. Just like we are doing, now - folks in the movie change their health radically in just 60 days. Take care and have a great day juicing.......
