  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I was at the end of my rope with no hope for the future. On April 5, 2013 I was bored and unhappy with my life. I was flipping through the channels and thought I'd check out the Food Network. Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead was on and after reading the show info, I thought I'd watch it. Thankfully, I taped it. As soon as it was done, I watched it again - then called my husband down to watch it with me. I'd had a juicer sitting in my cupboard for years and knew that I had no excuses.

You're an inspiration to me. Today close to the ending of my first day. I only had 2 juices because I ended up taking a nap which lasted for 9 hours. Wow is all I can say. I had this Green Star juicer for over 20 years and gave it away twice but the people gave it back to me. I guess I was to have it. It's getting easier to clean. It doesn't have a bag for the pulp but I put a 4 cup measuring cup under the pulp dispenser and it works quite well. The 1st juice of the day was grapefruit, ginger and cranberries (my on concoction) and it was tasty. The carrot, apple & ginger one was my 2nd juice today and it was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed Joe's story because most ads that I see people want to lose 20 to 30 pounds and I couldn't relate to that. I need to lose 130 pounds so this Reboot with Joe will work for me. I'm doing the 60 day reboot and will go on to the vegan lifestyle. I know that I won't lose the 130 pounds in 60 days but to get my body detoxed to go on. I've planned to get my exercise in next week sometime. I need to do one thing at a time.

wow your journey has just inspired me to preserve. I'm on day 2 of a 15 day reboot. I've never juiced before but I was inspired after watching Fat Sick and Nearly Dead and I knew I had to do this to break my addiction to sugar. I need to lose about 85 pounds so I'm hoping this kick starts my weight loss. Keep up the good work!!

I started my Juice fast on Sept 1 and also joined a health club...I lost 14.6 pounds in 2 weeks have lots of energy ...my goal is 60 pounds in total which will be Oct 31 hopefully.I am using many combinations for my juice. Favorite is mornings mostly fruit with spinach or cucumber. A place I went for treat is Booster Juice, well worth the visit. The gym addition was beneficial with doing the fat burner program on the treadmill it has a 5 to 1 ratio over regular bike to burn calories, will update after next weigh in. I was really motivated after watching Joe's story. It does work ,,,,just believe in yourself.

Good Luck everyone be proud of whatever you do...Remember Joe said its better to have tried. Willing to exchange recopies if anyone is interested

I have such a bad headache and neck pains that I just want to go to sleep and get up and ready for another day!! woo hoo.. Thank you for sharing your stories with us ;)

I'm on Day-9 and today was a bit of a struggle, but I kept thinking about the scale reading 242 this morning. I stayed true to the juice. Thanks for the title :)

well deserved title :) but maybe I should call you the Candy Crush Queen. Saw a seriously HIGH score there.... my wife & i just started playing that to try and calm our brains so we don't worry about stupid stuff, and now we are addicted to the darn candy. At least it is virtual candy and not the real thing - LOL

  • Getting enough electrolytes?

Hi, I'm on Day 57 since beginning to juice and Day 17 of Juice Only. I've been having dizzy spells and went to the doctor yesterday. I'm having blood work today to check on my iron and electrolyte levels. I found this recipe on several different sites and just made it. I'm going to add some to my juice, but I'm not sure how much I should add. Here's the recipe.

The Lip Twister ? tart and sweet
    ?1/4 cup of lemon juice
    ?1/4 cup of lime juice
    ?1 teaspoon of salt
    ?1 whole squeezed orange
    ?1 liter of water

I thought my light-headedness was low blood sugar, but it was fine. As of yesterday, I am off insulin - on April 9, I was using between 60-75 units nightly. My blood pressure was checked yesterday as well - and it couldn't be better, so I'm thinking it's my electrolytes. I'll know after my lab results come in, but I'd like to be prepared.

    Thanks for your help.
    Kate

  • Weight Gain after Reboot

I've been doing a combination of modified juicing (1 plant-based meal a day) and intermittent reboots since April 9. I just came off of a 16-day Reboot and the scale took quite a jump in 4 days......5.5 pounds. The only things I've been eating along with my morning juice are vegetables (raw and cooked), fruit and black bean soup that I make from scratch. I know that I'm not eating enough to have gained that much. It's very disconcerting. Do you have an answer?

I thought since the Holidays are coming up as well as the end of the year and I would rather start the year off on a positive note then as a desperate resolution, I will do nothing but juices, smoothie and salad until the end of the year. I know just juices alone would give me faster weight loss but I am trying to focus on health and not just weight alone as well as something that is sustainable for the long haul. I would love company and support if anyone else is interested? Join me and we can encourage and support each other. :)
