It's been a few weeks but thought I'd jump in and give a quick update - as of this morning down 21lbs. I started Jan. 13th with a 3 day all juice reboot...since then I've been simply drinking 1 24oz juice in the morning and another 24oz juice in the afternoon. I eat evening meals and occasional weekend meals as well. 2 months of doing this and I'm still losing....just amazes me! I feel great..I've had to buy new clothes...and it's just a daily routine now. 2 weeks ago I started walking on a treadmill. I'm now doing that 3x a week for 1 full hour. For those who can't do juice all the time, don't give up - know that replacing even 2 meals a day does wonders for you. I was so skeptical when I first started this, but once the pounds started coming off (yes, it's slower than if I were doing all juice) I knew this was something I could maintain for a long period of time. I've set a new goal. I will continue this for the rest of this year. If I can finish out the remaining 9.5 months, I can do this for life!

And although I've been eating - I have (almost) completely cut out bread, sweets, sodas, fast-food and pizza. Oh and I've stopped having beer during the week (not that I drank a lot before, but I did like my nightly beer). I drink tons of water and eat nuts when I feel like I need to eat during the afternoon.

I wanted to Thank everyone for their continued support and optimism on these community boards - I read and get encouraged every day (although I haven't posted tons). Keep up the good job everyone! Peace out!

You can store your fresh juice in the fridge for about 72 hours, but most people recommend you not leave it past 48. I normally juice the night before and refrigerate. You can also try freezing your juice, people are normally against it, but in Joe's book, he says it's perfectly fine and can last 7-10 days frozen. As for fruits and veggies, just make sure you keep the ones that need to be chilled, cold. I can keep my veggies in the crisper drawer for about 1-2 weeks. And fruits last about the same outside the fridge, i.e. Apples, Pears, Lemons, Limes.

Hi Everyone, just checking in. I've been completely juicing now (with the occasional banana or yogurt/2 nights of salmon for dinner) for about 12 days. I'm not doing this for weight loss, but to get myself back into eating healthy. I feel great and definitely have alot more energy. I have actually come to really like the Green Juice which surprises me. I've probably lost around 8lbs and notice a difference in my skin. Most days I'm okay, today I am really craving chocolate but am going to push through it. I instead had a yogurt and banana and will juice now the rest of the day. Your body does adjust to not eating and I think it's key to not let yourself go too long without a juice. I noticed when I skipped the mid day juices yesterday, I was starving and set myself up to want to binge. Staying strong and determined through the hurdles and am interested to hear how you all doing...please share to keep me and the rest of us motivated. Success = Inspiration

Well done. I have been similiar to you - will have a meal - but load up on salad and a small amount of protein. When I did have a breakfast - yoghurt and poached fruit, which I had been craving - massive sugar headache. Do this morning - went out for breakfast I reminded myself of the headache and had mushroom, tomato and spinach. Felt much better, but did notice that again I wasn't able to finish it. Satisified with less and enjoy it more. Good luck

You are an inspiration! Look at you! Wow! What you've accomplished is amazing!

As for me, I have two more upcoming trips this week and next so I'm still on my normal plant-based diet. I've had a net loss since the beginning of the month. I've started upping my exercise game the past couple of weeks, so my next round of juicing will be even more interesting!

I do plan to do a longer juice fast - I think that works better for me in terms of wt loss. But this short one got me re-focused and YOU have been my inspiration to keep pressing on!

    Good luck and Juice on!

Ok juicing buddies, time to motivate each other with our success so far! I've been having a rather slow week, and need some motivation. Before this week, I was doing great! I know it's just a small glitch and I'll get over the hump soon. So, how much have you all lost so far and how many days have you been juicing? Let's hear it and motivate our group to keep at it!

I'm on Day 10 of the 15 day challenge. The scales have stopped dead in their tracks at 5 lbs lost. I'm trying not to get discouraged but it's hard when I read about other people's successes! I'm happy for them, but sad for me. On a positive note, I feel pretty good and am getting used to all the juices. My hubby said I look good and my eyes look clear. So there are other benefits to juicing. Stay strong and juice on!

Hi, gbb77901, I'm sorry you feel discouraged, I have been on that boat too. It seems as though you've hit a plateau. I think I am currently on one of those too. I am trying to make sure I switch up my drinks a little bit, not always the same ones, and also drinking lots of water. I've also started incorporating Chia seeds, I drink 8 oz of water with 1 tsp of seeds for protein, fiber, and omega 3s. Maybe that will kick my metabolism back into gear...I'm sure that if you continue your juicing and giving it your all, you will lose a couple more pounds before your 15 day is up! Good luck! And thanks for sharing your story =)

sorry if this question is too much for some but I was wondering if anyone has had trouble having bowel movements. I haven't gone since I started the cleanse and I've been on it for a week now. Any suggestion would help. Thanks!

Hi Fitgirl14, You are not alone! I have been having issues throughout my entire reboot, and it's been 22 days now. I try to drink prune juice every 3 days or so and that really seems to help me out. I have also read that people have had great success with a natural herbal tea called "Smooth Move" made by Traditional Medicinals. You can find it at Wholefoods, if there is one near you. Hope you find something that works for you. I was surprised, bc most people have the complete opposite effect, but I guess we're special.. ;)

I'm sure this is one of the main reasons people are encouraged to stop eating meat/dairy before exclusively juicing. Beet juice seems to keep things moving along for me. But without the bulk, there just isn't as much to move.

Great advice, RaenbowRae :) LOL re: being special :) I've gone a bit back and forth -- one day multiple visits to bathroom, other days...not so much. :) the Here are some constipation tips from nutritionists at this site:

Don't be nervous, you'll do great! Grab some straws and focus on how well you're treating your body! Hot lemon water is fantastic and if you're hungry late at night shower and go to bed, lol ;)

You can do this! Tip 1: Take it easy on yourself! Tip 2: No juice recipe is written in stone -- use the substitution list if needed, or throw in something extra to adjust the taste to your liking Tip 3: Keep to the 80/20 Veggie/Fruit rule Tip 4: drink the rainbow for a variety of nutrients Tip 5: if you get hungry, drink more juice! Tip 6: make sure to drink plenty of fluids Tip 7: don't ignore coconut water - excellent way to keep your electrolytes in balance Tip 8: most questions can be answered with a quick google search of "reboot with joe <topic>" (like reboot with joe substitutions or reboot with joe digestive upsets, etc.) Tip 9: stay connected to this community or a fb group of juicers -- it is invaluable to maintain connections with people who are doing the same thing Tip 10: try not to obsess over the scale -- remember that you are focusing on flooding your body with nutrients and getting healthy. The weight loss is so very awesome, and is often big in the first week and begins to taper off. People begin to obsess over that sometimes ... don't let evil scales keep you from remaining motivated Tip 11: measure at least your waist if nothing else -- if you hit a plateau, you might be pleasantly surprised to see a significant change in your waist measurement even if the scales don't budge Tip 12: google "reboot with joe plateau" for great tips re: dealing with a weightloss plateau (first suggestion, drink more juice!) :) Tip 13: #JUICEON! :) (PS Pamela is correct -- a straw is your friend. It's helpful if you aren't crazy about a juice taste, but it also makes the juice seem more of a treat Hot lemon water or lemon/ginger water is also great -- love the shower idea too :)

I fell great and the pants are lose. I have 60 more pounds to lose so another 30 days is in order. The hardest thing is socially. I have helf myself up and avoided social situations, but its time to pay the piper and GET HEALTHY....

Social stuff does make it hard. We were out last night at a barbecue. The smell of the fat in the meat put me off (and I love meat). The salads looked great, but we decided to fill up on juice first before we left home and then drink sparkling water with lemon. We were outside when the food was on the table and didn't feel the need to eat.

With other functions we have gone plant based and found we need smaller servings.

It might be a bit slower than we would like, but it is all coming off and we are feeling so much better.
