New to Juicing - Please Help

Posted by shiva_sixx on 1 year ago Hi everyone, My partner and I began our juice fast last Saturday 3/9/13. So far he is down 10 lbs (of wanting to lose 60), and I am trailing behind at 8 (of wanting to lose 20). We don't have a set ending date; just until the weight comes off. ;) However, there are a few things I am noticing that are beginning to bother me quite a bit. I can't seem to shake a constant feeling of fatigue and hunger, no matter how much juice I drink. We normally have 3 Mean Greens a piece during the day, with a fruit juice for breakfast or dessert (not both). He keeps a water bottle beside him at all times, and I sit near the water cooler at work. So I don't know that it is a problem with being hydrated. I make the juice at night for the next day, and we have both noticed we are not getting the "energy boost" we first did from the MG. We are prone to bouts of nausea and extreme tiredness and stomach has been growling. We also get VERY hungry at night. We ate fairly healthy before (biggest weakness being Chipotle maybe 1x/week), don't go to fast food restaurants, etc. I find it hard to believe we are still detoxing, but maybe I am wrong. I don't know what will help with this. My eyes always feel very heavy, and I find it difficult to focus. It doesn't help that people eat a lot of junk where I work, and typically get something delivered for lunch. Every story I have read about Rebooting shows glowing, smiling people bursting at the seams with energy. I know the first three days are the worst, but this seems not to want to let up. Not going to quit, but some tips would definitely help. Maybe adding protein powder one juice? Taking a vitamin? I appreciate any and all advice. Thank you.

    Are your juices at least 16 oz. each. I stopped taking all over the counter meds and just stuck with prescribed meds. I haven't had a problem with low energy. I drank my juice like you. Fruity ones in the AM and 3 MG ones throughout the day. Then I changed it up to the fruity one as my third drink. I think cause it was the tastiest one and didn't want to go all day with the green ones. Then the last couple of weeks of my 60 days I cut out the fruity ones cause I think it was just to much sugar for me. Maybe try adding one more juice to your day. Good luck, you can do it.

    Hi Diana, Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, I make them in 16oz Mason jars since work schedule unfortunately doesn't allow them to be fresh. Minimum of three per day (depending on hunger) with an extra for breakfast or one in the evening. I am hoping it really is just detox symptoms, because I have read it can take up to 2 weeks before you see the constant energy effect. I feel like a space cadet most days. No problem to handle the negative comments and criticism at work, but to be honest we both feel rather awful today. I know we are still new to this, but it's more than a little depressing.
