Reboot Newbies

Ok, so I am a lot slow on doing this. I saw FSND over a year ago. I made some changes with a Nutribullet and then a NutriNinja. Lost some, gained some. Got stressed over the holidays and went up. Bad move, Space Cadet! Fast forward to the end of February. I see the FSND #2. Hmmmm, maybe I should try this. So, I get a Lalanne juicer and get started. Switch my meals to mostly vegetables (cooked) at the restaurants. Order an Omega 8006 because I wanted more of the Greens. 3 days ago made the commitment to full on juicing.

11 lbs lost since Monday!??!??!

What in the world? I am averaging about 60 ounces of juice a day, about 75 oz of water, and no exercise currently. I did add Coconut water last night. Not bad. I thought it was going to be sweeter. Interesting to note, I have read the posts where folks have modified the program with this and that and it didn't work. I went the other way and really started adding greens to my diet. Collard Greens hit yesterday. Romaine Lettuce is today for my lunch juice. Beets...I have them, but I am being chicken about juicing them. I hated them as a kid.

All in all, my short transition of vegetables allowed me not to have a headache.

Goal #1

Get under 300 lbs.

Goal #2

Get to 250 lbs.

Goal #3

Get under 235. The reason here is to get my BMI out of the Obese range.

I will use this post as a log for myself. Yeah, I know, the rate of weight loss is high. However, I have only lost 3.1% of my initial weight. Currently, past Day3 heading for 10.

Baby Steps.

You have a SHORTER trip than I do. That said, we both have a marathon to complete. One step at a time. So you missed your target a little bit with "cheating". Shake it off and let's get back on the journey. It is nothing more than tripping in the marathon and still finishing the race. As Joe would say, "Good on you" for getting back in the program.

Yeager -great job. I'm starting a 30 day on March 16th, but perhaps I can go longer - in the "preboot" phase now.

When I saw Phil gained all that weight back in part 2 - I used that as an excuse not to start - I said "That's me" - Why spend all that time, energy and money if I'm just going to gain it all back again (Like I have on the past having success on south beach, atkins, whole30, etc and then gain it all back).

I decided to read the book and realized that I need to find deeper motivations than just weight loss - when I lose weight - the motivation to be healthy is gone - and I gain it back. I also realized I needed to find community of people to be accountable and encouraged - so glad you are making your stand here.

I think you are way on track going green -

It is easy to quit. Look at all the people in the Tribe ( aka folks around you) who will say "Your Crazy!" or "You can't possibly do that" or any of the other things we all hear. It is when you succeed that they will say "You were lucky" or "I should have done that" or "You must have cheated", etc. C'mon and join me. Remember this is feeding our body what it NEEDS not what we WANT. Cinnabons are a special weakness of mine. Guess what? I walked right by them today and did not even feel tempted. Success for today! Find your successes and enjoy them!

You are not kidding!!! I just tried it for lunch. Oh my gosh, that was GREAT! Totally different than what I used to have to eat as a kid. WoW! Now I have to try the Aussie Gold recipe.

Congrats Yeager on the luck you are having with juicing. I found it to be amazing and as you let yourself continue to juice you will see your world transform and it is fantastic. Today is day 23 of Lent and I have decided to give up food for Lent and go juice only. So far so good, Lent is long but now having done over three weeks I am hitting the goodness. The cleanses build and the longer you go your results compound and you will be well on your way to hitting your long term goal.

I have to laugh because I gave up being fat for Lent. You know, give up the sin. Congrats on your journey!

Ok, Day 4, 12 lbs Total loss. 339 lbs. Only lost 1 lb overnight. Hooray! Wife and I were watching FSND last night together. She pointed out that I was worrying over nothing on the rate of weight loss. Joe lost 27 lbs in the first 14 days. So I am relaxing and going with the juice. Several folks are already commenting that they see it in my face. John Pinnette (may he rest in peace), anybody?

Keep going! Try to go for the 30 days. The more you lose the more you'll feel like exercise. About beets...they are a powerful detoxer...start with a small amount like a 2 inch piece and work your way up to more. Keep us posted. Praying for your success!

Yeah I agree with Jen, now that you have made it four days you have done the hard part. Now you have eliminated all the food from your system and the juice can really get to work. A friend of mine started by juicing 12 days to help with her cancer. Her doctors just told her to keep going and she did for 5 months. Juicing helped fight her cancer so she did not have to get radiation therapy. That is an extreme but now that you have started keep try to keep the ball rolling, it is amazing how the results build. Good Luck with day four!

Wow, Gritz! That is amazing. Not that the juice helped her cancer but the Drs actually agreed that it was helping. Have you watched "The Gerson Miracle?" There is a place that has been curing cancer with juice for about 80 years. I mean, it's an intense program but it's probably better for you than chemo....uses the exact opposite logic. Instead of poisioning the cancer out of your system, juice empowers your system to beat up the cancer. Pretty amazing stuff.

NO I have not seen "The Gerson Miracle" I am going to check it out. Is it on Netflix?
